Portfolio practice...I was trying to design some monsters for a random kirby/sonic style videogame idea I had.. and I also added malcolms chara design in there too because I'm quite liking him XD
There is some concept art of some level ideas for it here;
All I really came up with about it is that the lady on the bottom left of the first page is like an opera singer of some kind.. not sure if she's evil yet.. (should she be?)
and she likes oranges and lemons haha
and the dude on the top right of the second page is called 'Sycamore' and he's the main character of the game ^^ it's set in autumn because it's my favourite season

we should really draw together on some progrum sometime, it's sort of hard to explain how robots should look. I learned from action figures and such.. how body parts have to be, to be rigid but still move.
Basically the shoulders should be separate pieces from the body, connected via a ball joint that you don't have to draw very carefully since it's probably not very visible.. they have to have plenty of clearance space to move, right?
Then upper and lower arm should be connected with some kind of rotator joint for the elbow. That joint should probably be cutting into the arm parts, with more room on the inner surface since it only has to bend that way..
then of course the fingers have to have joints too.. you can probably get away with little wheels for knuckles.. unless you want it to have super claw hands, then only joints where it connects to the hand.. and you don't even have to draw a joint if the part is fitting into a slot in the part it's connected to, just draw the slot

I LOVE THIS!!! It's fun and colourful, and your characters have total appeal. I love the contrast in the shading of the robot, The blue tadpole lady had so much movement to her, and I want one of the pink and green things in the corner. (I swear i'll take good care of him)
I'd love to see the green dude from the top right taken further, he's got an awesome design, could be the next Sonic/Crash Bandicoot/Ratchet.
