I actually have something like this in mind for a live-action/animated television movie in my proposed live-action Voltron cinematic universe - Lion Voltron Special: 5 X 5 Lions.
It would feature the five incarnations of the Lion (Beast King GoLion) Voltron Force III of the Far Universe on their own adventure apart from the Vehicle (Armored Fleet Dairugger XV) Voltron Force I of the Near Universe and Gladiator (Lightspeed Electroid Albegas) Voltron Force II of the Middle Universe.
The five iterations or timelines are as follows...
1) Prime (1981 Beast King GoLion/1984 Voltron: Defender of the Universe)
2) Beta (1998 Voltron: The Third Dimension)
3) Gamma (2011 Voltron Force)
4) Delta (2016 Voltron: Legendary Defender)
5) Epsilon (live-action Voltron cinematic universe)

Well, the five Lion Voltron Forces from each timeline are taken by a hole in space and time to meet up with each other in a giant hillside castle located in the Astral Vault demiplane of the goddess Denubia who with her last act saved Lion Voltron (then known as GoLion) from the first Haggar’s curse by splitting the mighty robot up into its five component robot lions.
In a take on the Doctor Who season 16 storyline called the “Key to Time”, our heroes must split up into teams to find the five shards that make up the Key to the Star Lions which grants power to whoever will possess it and help save Lion Voltron with an additional 13 lives or regenerations. All the while, a redeemed Lotor Epsilon battles his inner dark sides in his counterparts.
As they work with their counterparts, Team Keith goes for the Sky Shard; Team Allura seeks the Water Shard; Team Hunk must find the Earth Shard; Team Pidge looks for the Forest Shard; and Team Lance is on the hunt for the Fire Shard. They do so knowing that any object or person could be a shard, and the power of the key is too dangerous to fall into the wrong hands.
