And the sign at the far end reads:
"Dear invading army, want to cross this river? Good luck."
Anyhow, this is a truly beautiful piece of art and I'm glad that I found it.

I have a question: Do you use layers, or you just paint in one layer?

Again, it's so beautiful!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FrankAtt In reply to antoined73 [2013-04-10 12:16:48 +0000 UTC]

Most of the time I have one layer with the image and another on which I paint.
When I like it, I merge them together. So I paint only on one layer all the time.
And thanks for the watch

That's a very interesting view!
I can see how you've made all the main structures follow a common perspective point. The rocky cliffs all seem very..natural.

I love how you paid attention to the direction of the light, especially how you shaded the left tower while allowing the right one to recieve lighting.
The additional bridge in the background indicates a simillar series of islands hidden from the viewer.

But the most complimenting element is the body of water at the base. It really ties the whole picture together, foreground and background.
I really like how you colored it too. The combination of shaded areas with lighter strokes over them is very appealing!

Thank you very much for this kind words!
I had really trouble with this one...donΒ΄t know how many changes until the perspective worked

I like it how you used the islands as tower points. Additionally, the bridges are a nice touch. Good work.

Well it that sort of way that a lot of people paint really good looking landscapes. You can see a lot of the brush strokes, but they still looks great!
