This is the artwork for the cover of Mercy Thompson: Homecoming issue 1 from Dabel Brothers Publishing. I'll also be doing the interior art for this 4 issue miniseries. If you're familiar with the novels, this is a prequel to those books.The character's pose is based on one of faestock's photos:

The Mercy Thompson novels is my all time favorite book series. Your art has added a whole nother dimension to the stories. I just wanted you to know that.

Love it, but the paw print shouldn't be so bulky. A coyote will step in it's own prints when they move. You do some really great work, though.

LOVE THIS! Just saw it over on Jessica's fan page. I'm curious if there was some aspect of layering that happened her, r did you literally just use the photo as reference? (And by layering I mean was it painted using photoshop, etc?)

Giving her a smudged face and more dirty hands, would have added that extra "I'm dirty but I don't care cause I'm sexy-look", but still, it's awesome

Beautiful work. Not how I would see Mercy but this is the younger Mercy. Can't wait for the comic to get finished.
The only weird thing is the left hand. Its a very weird way to hold a wrench. Those things are really heavy at the top( in know I have them and I could never see myself hold one like that) and I would imagine it would either be angled back more due to the weight or be rested on her arm. Maybe if the arm was a little more relaxed away from the body. Looks like you were just trying to fit the arm in there with out any of it getting cut off. If it was maybe the other retch she had (it looks smaller) in that hand I wouldnβt see a problem or if she just had her left arm down. Thatβs just my opinion though. Mercy comes of as a very relaxed person and this is very posed. I think it would look much more natural with just one wrench. Too much play on the mechanic thing. Maybe dirty her up or dirty the wretches up.(my dads a mechanic he has permanently dirty hands) Iβm sure she would still be sexy even with a little dirty.
Other than that amazing painting job. Beautiful use of colors. Everything flows so well together. Good colors for a Coyote. Makes me think of sunsets in the prairie lands.

Amazing!! You got Mercy really good there. The skin tones are lovely though I have to say that the belly tattoo looks more like a bear print than a coyote print to me, IΒ΄m not an expert though.
I love the books and IΒ΄m sure Patty would be delighted if she knew you inspire people to read them with posting the pic here ^^

I haven't read any of the books, but I remember going through the bookstore one time and seeing the cover to... Blood Bound, I think, and completely adoring the picture. And so naturally, as soon as I saw the pawprint tattoo on your's, I was all, "HEY! I KNOW THAT!!1!111" ..... the be-all/end-all of this long and pointless post is this: Great job!
