I haven't used any special light. the only light available came from some spotlights placed on poles at the center of the square.

What is this about? Why did they gather? What happened there?

They are the inhabitants of a village called Barpak, Nepal.
That evening they were gathered in a clearing above the village, to celebrate the ancestors. There was food for all, dances, prayers and gambling.
