Description *splash* *takes picture* *wipes off lens* Well maybe it wasn't quite that simple
This one sure was tricky to get! First of all, I needed a decent background. Wanna know what I used? A box of Nesquik chocolate milk mix. Yes that's right, I used a plastic box of food, which happened to reflect light, which became a problem. The shots were coming out over-exposed so I had to turn the exposure down and lighten the photo in PP9. I simply filled a small glass with water, let the sink slowly drip, and tried to time it just right. The focus and DOF proved to be a whole new world of problems. It would take 10 seconds for it to focus, and it would often miss the middle of the drop, deciding to focus in front of it instead. However, I love working with shallow DOFs, it gives the shot more depth and hey, sometimes I like a challenge Luckily I finally got it, after about 40 shots...but it was worth the work

_-_-_Full view is HIGHLY recommended_-_-_

Thank you I'm working on perfecting the setup so the drops don't splash on the lens as much

Great shot evan, and i love the fact that it is focused perfectly on the drop.

Here's the Critique, The Image is rather noisy and not very sharp. Maybe you should try using some Unsharp Mask in Photoshop to sharpen it up a little and use a program like Neat-Image or Noise Ninja to get rid of the noise!

Other than that, This photo is beautiful. Keep it up!

Blake.

Thanks Blake!
I took out some of the noise using a filter in PP9. And you're right, it is still a bit noisy Unfortunately, if I remove any more noise, the image tends to look a bit blurred....so I suppose instead of the noise filter, I could go over parts of it with the soften brush to make the noise less distracting. Thanks for the tip, I'll go work on it
