The first one of these fractal drawings that I have colored. I've been working on this off and on for several months. It took a lot of patience! Pen and Prismacolor colored pencils on 11" x 14" paper.Related content

Thanks! I agree with you. I am working on a 18" x 24" color commission right now. I don't do a lot of work in color because it is something that I find to be very monotonous.

I am a fan of meditation. I would say I have only truly achieved it in a different mode of consciousness though. Usually too many distractions.

the trick is in finding your own calm place. no guru can take you there, because in your own mind you are god. until you realise this the distractions will keep stopping you from getting where you want to be. they can never be inside your own head because you are in control in there.
its tough, and very annoying to try and get to, but well worth the effort

Awesome! Love the blending in and out of each colour into a new one. I've always found it difficult to use colour with this sort of style for some reason, you did a great job!

You definitely should this turned out great! Even though I personally feel the B/W style has a really bold impact, and can fend for itself without depending on colour lol, it's always good to brighten things up, and if it challenges you, forces you into you uncovering new techniques or processes then thats what it's all about.

Yeah, I think it is always important to push your boundaries and incorporate new styles. Coloring is something that I've always found very tedious, but it is always worth it.

I've just always found it daunting, I'm not great at combining colours that actually work, because I have had little experience doing it, because of that I never choose to do it, vicious cycle!
This worked really well though man, and I think it's just discovering that part of the process in colour that you also found with pen, then it'll no longer be tedious! Not sure if that makes sense, but there ya go haha.

The only thing to make it lovelier would be if you booted the levels in photoshop to give 'truer' colours in the photograph (making the white paper white). ^.^

Scans are worth the investment
Although from experience, use a cloud program to store them. Never ever trust hardware to not fail!
