A ray of sunlight passes through the clouds and illuminates the canyon in the last hours of the day.Part III of the Canyon Sunset series of panoramas.

A 17-shot panorama of the Grand Canyon. This was taken near the Hermit's Rest on the South Rim. It was slightly before parts I and II.

Seems like the canyon is ablaze because of the sunlight. At first it looks like a volcano because of the shadow or looks like a meteor fell into the rocks creating a crater. Its beautiful! good shot!

Incredible shot! I love how the colors just leap out at the viewer. That single ray of sun makes all those earth tones flare up like they are on fire. I also love how you can see far, far into the distance, making you realize that this is just a tiny part of a vast landscape.
