Obviously, full view is recommended. Otherwise, I'm going to call you a bewbie. *grins*

Cashmere, Washington - USA

I know this is a bit unusual.... but I just have to share. This is my hometown, where I was born and raised, and still live. I know every road, every hill, every mountain. Unlike Seattle, we do not get a lot of rain here. In fact, it's known for being sunny about 300 days out of the year.

So you can see, a lot of my inspiration comes directly from where I live. I truly love it here. I have the heart of a traveler, but I will always call Cashmere my home.

This photo is taken directly across the valley from my house. The Cascade Mountains are far in the background, shrouded in clouds and fog.

The day was just too beautiful not to photograph.

Anyway....back to your regularly schedule programming!!

niceee Aimee reminds me a lot of my hometown in germany, which is also circled by mountains - though 300 days of sun in the year would be a dream ... now I got homesick...

"I have the heart of a traveler, but I will always call Cashmere my home."
I see and feel exactly what you mean. I love to travel, but what I really love is to come back at home after a long journey... My home has a very special smell, and I think, it's part of the travel

It's beautiful! Do you ever get snowed in, though?

(haha I must be growing up, when I look at snow and consider the safety implications )

Thank you!! And oh yes, we've been snowed in before! Got snowed in last winter even! lol

This winter has been freakish. The warmest January on record. usually we have three times as much snow... it's hardly seemed like 'winter' at all this year.

I've had snow up to my hips before! lol

jeregrettebcoup In reply to Foxfires [2010-01-28 14:38:35 +0000 UTC]

Weird! It seems that all this climate change is making it snow in places it usually doesn't, and be warm in normally cold places!

Snow up to your hips?! Wow. Can you swim in snow?

I have to try every possibility to get it working. I know I can on Ubuntu, but Windows is... well, quite limited in that aspect

Anyways, how can I add Cashmere to my "places to be born in in my next life" wishlist?

106 degrees....what celcius???

there will be a flood then !

I think it is 41.111C ?? LOL Super hot! And sometimes it gets hotter!

We do have flooding in the Spring when it starts to warm up. There is usually only a couple of weeks in the summer when it gets that hot, but still...

Adastra14 In reply to Foxfires [2010-01-26 23:42:38 +0000 UTC]

pah.... in Malta we get 45 to 47 degrees celcius....
and here its HUMID so its even more mentally damaging in summer.

and we get a flood every time it rains...even though we are a tiiiiny little island...we cannot find the means to convert the rain into a resource other than wasting it !
