Quick little drawing of encouragement for SolaceBeneathSilence , who's swamped with all sorts of stuff draining energy ze'd normally use for writing zir fanfics.Also because I just really wanted to draw Mephisto in a cheerleading uniform, with Shiro as the school mascot. No, I have no valid reason for why he's a dinosaur. He just is.

Both good and bad timing, if it's possible to have that. I needed something like this. It reminds me of the anime's outro and that ad screen where Mephisto is heading a troupe of Εendan exorcists. x) As far as I'm concerned this is totally canon and Mephisto has been trying for years to get the students to pick up on the wonderful tradition of cheerleading through forcing encouraging the school staff to cheer for its students each time a class graduates. The introduction of a mascot (design by Mephisto) was an attempt to promote the idea, but it was met by a resounding lack of enthusiasm from Shiro the student body, and the mascot soon fell into oblivion. (If you dig around in very old school photo archives you might find this picture in there. Minus the tail, of course. I would have thought the tail itself would be green-yellowish and the ridge/hairs purple?)
Exactly how he got Shiro to wear the costume... Β I'm sure we'll discover it.

Hehe, colour-wise I initially wanted to do the tail green and the hairs purple, but I liked the idea of the hair on his tail following the same pattern as that on his head, so I had to have at least the tip of the tail yellowish. I chose to switch the colour of the tail, otherwise there would be too much green-yellow. The hairs on the base of his tail are still purple, though.
Maybe if I made a bigger drawing, allowing for a slimmer tail, I would have made the tail green after all... I'm not sure. Could also be fun to have the scale-y part be greenish at the base and purple at the tip, while the furry line starts out purple and ends in a green-yellow tuft. Like it's going in two directions. Would suit his contradictory character.

I think I like the scales purple and the fur/spines going from purple at the base to yellow-greenish at the tip. It makes your thoughts go more towards dragon and less towards dinosaur (less puns about him being an old fossil). Plus: think how excited he will be to have a colour scheme similar to Spyro's. Cx
