So I was replaying the first game and found out quite a few things that I missed the first time around...
the first being related to the Dread Wolf, who is the FIRST CODEX ENTRY YOU GET IN THE GAME if you choose Dalish Elf, I mean

the second thing I found was that if you ask around, you can actually piece together what happened to your character's parents!
You have to talk to the other Dalish clan too, of course... but your clan knows about your mom!!

so from what I could tell, and from what i'm going to put together for my Warden/Hero of Ferelden, Lyna.... Her dad was a Keeper, and her mom was one of the best hunters in their clan. They were not together for very long when humans attacked their clan. The Keeper died defending the clan, because that is the Keeper's job...
but this hunter... ran all the way to Merethari and gave birth to that clan... and then died because stupid star wars reasons, not being able to live without husband....ehhhh BS.
