Description Ah yes, the terrifying Underwater Panther... plushy.

I made this plush of a cat with it's insides on it's outside after studying about the Underwater Panther of the underworld in Plains Native American stories. I wanted to make something deceptively cute out of what is normally a dangerous and powerful entity. I saw depictions of the Underwater Panther done in the X-ray style, which represents shamanic vision. I was also looking at Totem Pole art from the northwest coast (like the Tlinget) and I thought it was cool how they rearrange the creatures parts and show the joints of the body as power centers- I used buttons for this.
