Description Woah, this took ages to complete...
This is a collab between me and , who did the terragen work (twice!).
I'd like to thank him for his hard work and patience - go check out his gallery, he truely deserves a visit .

This piece was actually done twice - with 2 different terragen renders. Getting the composition right was very hard as it's my first go at terraspace. I think I got it right at the end...

Comments are welcomed as always!

A great piece, really. I love the landscape, the explosions and the space scene... Very detailed and highly realistic.

Now, if I'm asked to be ultra-critical, I have to say that (from a physical/astronomical viewpoint) the image portrays a sci-fi scene as we would *expect* it to look having watched too many sci-fi movies. Both the landscape and the space scene look great and realistic on their own, but combined... hmm, something feels odd... maybe the relative proportions?

However, aside from physics, this is a great picture. Definitely worth being sold as a print.

very beautiful, not sure if the landscape and largest planet work together completely, simply from a perspective point of view, the planet is so close and yet is shadowed and not visible on one side. still gorgeous though

awesome terragen render and space sceen. only thing that is sort of disturbing is that the whole of the image perticulary the space part are a bit blury.

great work otherwise.

Wow, I love this piece. Absolutely stunning. Once again, planet textures are incredible, and the nebulae look very good. All blended seamlessly with the landscape. The only thing that could use some more work is the reflection from meteors in the water.

Really impressive, I've tried to do some planets and space scenes, mostly working off deviantart tutorials, but nothing like this, I've only posted one work cause the others really aren't that good Really impressed with rendering on this, I'd probably cut it in half and post the top half as a seperate image, but each to his own.

This is pretty awesome.

I love the colour and the planet, and I think th eterragen peice and the space peice both look excellend, but the blend between them is pretty poor. try overlapping parts of the picture rather than having them sperated by a brown smudge.

i like the look of this one. (a humble suggestion) consider cropping off the bottom and displaying just the top half of this image, the upper part is very well composed and without the disconnected looking lower part it becomes a very powerful image. As it is, it's very nice nonetheless.

I am much stronger in the space region than I am in terraspace, so I'm hoping to get better in future works...

this is fantastic work, it's inspired me to make some planets! *opens up ps* in terms of critique the reflections in the water of the asteroids seems a bit odd to me... doesnt seem to fit quite right... still looks dam good though! good work

Wow this is great.. I love the hot coloures, it looks like the universe is burning ^_^ ... is it very hard to create the gas cloud thingies that you've used in the top of the image... just curious ..? ...you've done a good job with the tiny splatters of stars as well ^_^

Over all, great work. So many well made space images dont get enough credit around here. Anyway, just a few little critques here. One, your main planet doesnt quite fit, i think its because you made the inner glow around the edges too strong and the outter not strong enough, making it look sort of flat. Also, i think you might need to rework the reflection of the meteors on the water, they're not the same color as the ones in the sky, also it seems like they're too perfect to be a reflection in water. Muddy em up a little bit. the small planet in the bottom right needs some lighting attention, the colors dont really fit with the neb behind it, also theres no light wrap from the nebula and it looks a lil funny.

One more small note...this is a sort of take it or leave it kind of thing..well really it all is...but for the nebulas, try making them with your own brushes in tools. I know that the brushes you can get around here are tools and what not, but i personaly find it more fun to use your own, more challenging as well. And yeah in some of my older ones ive used other peoples brushes but lately ive made sure to use my own...anyways thats just me. again over all good pic and sorry to ramble lol
