Description This is 's birthday drawing.
I promised her that I would make a drawing for her b-day, so here it is.
Happy Birthday!

I hear she is into Bleach lately, so I thought I would try one of her fave, Kuchiki Byakuya.
I watched the show a little bit...I think his attack is my fave.
His hairdo is a bit of a mystery to me...but I like his bangs. Bleach characters seem more angular than Inuyasha characters.

Amazing use of the water colours there! looks so natural. Especially on Byakuya - i dont think that media would have suited any other character better than him!

Definitely a favourite

Yep, yep, Byakuya is very popular. At first, I didn't like him at all, like Sesshoumaru in fact, but when is backstory has been known, he sure became one of my favorite characters! The one I always loved though in Bleach is Ukitake Jyuushirou~ Maybe it's the white hair? XD

OOOH it looks like you used watercolors? Viva el traditional arts!!!

And it turned out looking great! I'm weird, but I really love the colors and the sorta curved horizontal you used for the background - it really works for this piece

thank you yep it is inkwash.
i use diagonal and curved lines a lot for the background. they seem to add more to the picture.

Very nice!! Don't know the manga bleach but you certainly did an awesome job on him!! Tres Coolies!! and the paper accordian on his head... odd... I do agree with the difference in characters but his name is rather close to an incarnation of Naraku's... maybe their related? on a very obscure level??

thanks i didn't know much about bleach either, but i got to watch a little bit for this pic.
and that hair thing seemed to be made of something hard, because in one episode it was shattered.
i've seen the name "kagura" used in other manga too. i guess they are popular words for character names, because they both has pretty sound and symbols and not used often as names in reality....

it IS actually painted, like all of the ink like effects on my drawing the part done digitally is colors.

i'm glad you like it.
I also noticed that he is mostly drawn from his right side (the side with the hair thing) which i find it unusual. My hubby thought his hair thing was a type of a hat.

XD Yeah, now that you mention it, he is usually drawn from the right. I think because he's got that bang thing going on on the left side of his head

Haha a hat? XD I'm not sure what it is actually, some kind of decor. It broke in one episode and I had a fangasm when his hair was down
