I ended up finding some cool bookstores while on vacation, and one of the once I went in had a store cat.... The cat would just walk around the store, ignoring completely my extended hand and calming sounds xD Than another book store sold antique books and I just got lost there in the hallways covered in books! It was pretty magical xD The idea of the painting came there, joining the experiences together

Haha cats always feel superior to us xD that's why they bring us dead birds and crickets, they think we are giant blind kittens that need to learn how to hunt xD
And yes, I've known that. Cats are once (and still by some) believed to see faeries, cats are sacret animals in many religions and mythologies. My favorite cat/magic connection is through Norse goddess Freya, who was believed to ride a chariot pulled by two cats<3

Amazing work! There's so much detail in the fur and the markings on the books. I love the mood from the candlelight, and the opposite eye colour to the lighting is a nice touch. Very atmospheric.Β Β
