Why not make a scene where the professor gives them an accident which granted them three powers. Like Eddy's are super speed, and fire power, Edd (Double D's) are invisiblity mind control, and force blast. And Ed's energy increase his old super strength more powerful that's he's able to catch bullets pick up heaveir objects, blast and super speed? I'm only saying, but if you don't like my comment I can take it out.
