I loved the asterix and obelisk books and the animated movie. not the live movie as much though. but you have captured Depardieu masterfully here!!!!!!!!!!
shapewise...nope... he really needs to do a detox or a veggie diet or something like that. ( me... i'll stick to ice-cream and excellent brews! ) I read that he drinks about 6 or 7 bottles of wine a day and he said it doesn't even affect him, lol
as far as m. blahbama's health plan... it turned out to be a huge cover for the big ag companies pushing their products on the public , disguising them as "smaller portions with less fat" while they were loading the crap up with suger. watch the documentary "Fed Up" if you can get a hold of it...and have the time or even feel like it
almost all politicians are in bed with big business.

Depardieu would not be such a great Obelix if he was not so huge and so fat! 
He is the only one who can really play Obelix.
Christian Clavier was a wonderful Asterix.
Too bad they have replaced him by a pitiful and lousy actor.
Gérard will NEVER ever be a subscriber for the oh la la! fatmama's "healthy menus"! 
He likes "larger portions with more fat"!
He needs rich and dense foods to fulfill his little tummy!
And a few good bottles of wine to help make all this down his throat.
