Description Contest entry of Porsheee 's character Iquor.

Gotta step up my game this time. More symbolism in this one:

Iquor, the smart one, has her hands positioned at 10:00, a number that represents wisdom and knowledge/reflects her personality. Her hands are bound to her other/past self suggesting she feels bound to her decisions (according to the time travel theory in which a parallel universe spawns with every decision).

Ahh snowy I love this piece of yours!! XD The symbolism and the composition is very cool~ It really conveys the concept well. I especially liked the horizontal line/mirror/clock and the colored shards in between.

The difference in both poses is also interesting. The one the right (I believe is the present self?) is more dynamic and free as compared to the one on the left who has her legs tucked in, eyes closed.

I see this is an older piece of yours so maybe my comments won't make much sense anymore since you've improved since then. But I'll just say one or two things! The hand that holds the watch and the other one pointing down at the clockhand seems a little awkward in my opinion. I would think that the hand holding the clock should have her fingers curled in more to grasp it.

Also, just a suggestion, maybe it would be cooler to make it more obvious which the past self is by blurring it a little or adding some effects to make the color different from the present self?

Anyway, I really like this!! <33 Great job~

I love symbolism.

Starting with this, I'll say you just that this piece is amazing not only for the style, but also for symbolism and meanings that it keeps.
First of all, the base idea represented in this piece is brilliant. Then, is great HOW is it represented:Β
Hands holding, in a invisible tie that leads the clever Iquor to herself from the past or, even, from another dimension, a parallel universe. One is holding a clock on her chest, according also to the position of the characters in the drawing, and it also reminds me at the concept of "past".Β
The other, then, has a determinate expression, like a hero before a battle, like someone who's determinate in her intention, even if she knows that the choises she make are influenced also by the OTHER Iquor, that probably will never "let her go", because she's in every thing she does.Β
And the idea of put her hands on a number that reflect herself is great!
Also, the background reminds to lightness, and makes more the idea of space without time, where parallel realities can collide!

This piece is great, I'd like to see more about this story of yours and about this character. Seems so interesting!Β  Β

Thank you so much for the response! Your interpretation also brings the character herself into light. It's always really cool to see the perspectives and interpretations of the viewer. The story/character isn't mine though! It's actually Porsheee's character in her novel Atlantis Clocks Tell No Time! Lots of intensity and deep characters. Definitely can find out more here (porsheee.deviantart.com/galler… ) Always really cool when narratives of many people come together. Thanks for responding under!

This is really well done.

I love the concept of this.
The way I see is that on the left side is what she is feeling inside while on the right side is what she appears on the outside.
I see that she is holding the time close to her chest while till keeping a bright and strong face n the outside.Β

Β Well that is just my opinion. Anyways you did a wonderful job and keep at it.Β
