So, that's really just textures edited like a craft? Very impressive work in either case, because it looks amazing. The curvature of the wings and the detail on the armor win me over easily.

I did some vector shapes and then I used textures (every single part has its own pattern). In the end I added artificial light and painted some shadows. The trick is, I never meant this to be realistic. In case like that nopony would ever think about this as a digital artwork.
And now I'm angry at EQD for their silly mistake. In Drawfriend this art would mess up a thing or two but in APCraft section it looks like a nice picture of another mediocre papercraft. So much potential wasted.

EqD doesn't give their submissions more than a couple cursory glances, it seems. A commission of mine recently got a similar treatment. But yes, it's still kinda sad to see such an oversight. By all rights, it's an artwork compilation picture. (Although I wouldn't call it mediocre even if it was a crafts object instead, it'd take skill to arrange cloth this well and make it stay that way.)
Regardless, it's still a beautiful piece of work. A rather original idea, no matter how obvious it may seem, and very good in its execution. The unintended realism makes it all the better.Β

I checked your case, truly similar to mine. Misreading is a common thing and they have tons of submissions daily... But should we care? Nope. We just wanted to get things done properely.
