I think Twilight was designed so that any studious nerdgirl could identify with her. The only race she needs is anime schoolgirl/teacher/librarian race, everything else is irrelevant except purple being part of her identity. Seeing as it's been 7 years & the neckbear racists haven't touched this wonderful pic that's a good thing. Still it's kind of unfortunate that Twilight Sparkle didn't influence anywhere near 1 Million girls to be like her so that everyone would want to be friends with them.
