Description
so. basically I cleaned out my gallery due to insecurity and second hand embarrassment, and,, yeah, I've been kinda shy about posting my art lol. BUT I've gotten encouragement from one of my favorite artists to post, and yeah! yippee
this lil guy is Toadstool, he/it, he's a funky lil dude!! it's a massive sweetheart and has no thoughts whatsoever. this is aided to the fact that he sprouted VERY late.
buckle up folks here's where I talk about shroomfolk reproduction
so basically, the way for at least two shroomfolk to reproduce is snapping off a piece of their cap (usually grows back, no worries!) and planting it into the ground of their choice, waiting nine months, then coming back to see the cap emerging out of the ground. they assist the child on wiggling the rest of the way out, then boom, parenthood. it doesn't matter what gender the shroomfolk have, only if they have a cap to crack into.
buuuut Toadstool's parents buried him VERY deep into the ground. usually if this happens, the child will wiggle it's way up, but here, bro ran out of energy. so when the parents came back to see that the cap hasn't emerged (often a sign that the resulting child has perished), they just sorta,, left it there. usually if this happens, the child will die from suffocation,, but! somehow, he found enough room to breathe, and thus spend a good chunk of his life snoozing in the dirt, getting the required nutrients from the ground around it. listen I know there is not an ounce of science around this I just want my guy to live
once he reaches the equivalent of early twenties, it finally, FINALLY sprouted. sadly nobody comes to the works with clothes on, so the shroomfolk that finds him had to loan it a spare, poor bud.
oh his friend. well that'd be Blewit Mushroom, another shroomfolk character I'm planning!! I'm obsessed with her colors ijhugy
mmmmay go back and edit his vest to be the same color as it's cap (still a VERY pretty color!! just kinda throwing me off
feel free to hand over criticism/tips and ideas!! I'm still a young artist, so it's more than welcome <3
