I finally convinced myself to practise backgrounds!
And that's what I was doing all day long, instead of doing homeworks... shame on me! D:
And it's not even finished. X) I passed about 6 hours on this and this is only the quarter of the picture I was trying to reproduce.
Anyways, I still proud of it. Believe it or not, it's the first time I draw a realistic scenery digitally (... even traditionnally! And it was about time!). It takes a lot more time than I thought! So much details! Aha, I have a lot of respect for you now, you artists that draw detailled backgrounds.
I hope I will finish it someday. Also, I was thinking about adding one of my character too, to put my personal touch.
I'd really like some critiques on this, mainly on my technique (the picture isn't mine).

This is spectacularly beautiful! The number of colours and textures in that image... you achieve them all so wonderfully. Good job. Wow!

I really like this one, it's a pretty and mood-setting scenery that implies adventure ^^
It can be improved though! I'm not an expert at lighting, but the lighting in this pic seems a bit... spotlight-ish. As in not entirely realistic. The light source isn't that apparent. So by adding more shading and making the picture less "clean", I think you can improve it a lot ^^

That's funny, though, because I copied the picture the best as I could. So, I guess the correct word would be interesting.
However, while I see what you mean, my goal was to try to understand the nature as it is.
But! I will keep this in mind for my paintings! Thanks a lot for pointing that out! <3

Ouais, c'est mon premier fond sérieux. Les autres, c'était juste un pitchage de couleurs un peu n'importe où.
Mais tu sais, j'avais rien qu'à copier ce que je voyais. D: C'est pas comme si tout ça était sorti de ma tête!
