Description Well its finally completed.

Gant 2 update is here. i have decided to make this a new deviation because there are changes to bitmaps etc and users may want to just do toolbars, icons and avi so they can use my old module.

i really hope you enjoy this. Please read the readme and if if you wish to donate for my hardwork check out info in the readme.

Please note this module has been tested and works on win2k3 and XP home/Professional SP1. it seemed to work better if wmp9 was installed (not sure why) if some things arent changing try applying the module again and rebuilding icon cache again. if problems persist please email me (email is on main deviant page)

important b4 reporting bug, this one is already identified
Some of you may have a bug with the save as/open dialog with the navigation buttons at the top right. they will be fixed at a later point. others have noticed the image isnt replaced at all and defualt ones are there. i am one such person.

mine doesn't work, when i put the .dll where yoy said, guir says that, It doesn't have an install.ini so i'll assume it's not a module. why? how do i fix this?

that always happens when you replace resources in system file. to be honest i have not tested this on any recent version of windows. i dont use a windows computer except for at work. but from memory those messages should only occur while installing the module. just ignore them and let the module finish once restarted and icon cache rebuilt it should give those messages anymore.

It did it after the install. it's stopped now though, for some reason. Great module though! do you plan to use the GANT 3 icons now? they are a lot cooler than the older GANT ones you've used in the set. bah, that's just my two cents! keep it up!

My bad, i was using the wrong version. but now, every now and again, it'll say "blah blah, there is thingos that windows doesn't recognise, please insert your XP cd to restore the originals" it does this all the time, no matter how many times i click cancel. is there a way to stop this?

Hi Chronic,

As you can see from the release date of this I haven't done this for a long time. I no longer work in making these shell packs because the community just didnt give back they just took and it was very draining for me on time. No one had put their hand up to help me or anything.

I now work in Mac OS X gui customizing and also MSN Messenger

If you want to make your own get reshacker and edit the files you can download here. if you have a look at the guiscript section in reshacker you will figure out how th script works pretty easily. you can edit the *.dll file resources very easily with reshacker. should be fairly simple to work out from there.

they are all included in the readmy that comes inside the compressed file, have a look there for that and other information, this is why we put readme's out there

I love G.A.N.T like nothing else, but this pack is confusing me. I can't install the file at all, since the GUIReplacer program just tells me it misses a Install.ini file which was not mentioned in the installation instructions. "Just drag the gant2_v2.dll file to the GUIReplacer's folder named Modules". What am I doing wrong? I got stuck, on like the third step of installation.
It looks great, can't wait to get it working

i think you might be using the wrong version of GUIR, this is made for version 1.4 i realise the name is confusing. the beta version of GUIReplacer 2.0 uses a different script system and i havent finished converting my scripts over to that yet.

sorry for the late reply.. there have been some mixed results with sp2 but overall it worked in most cases. there was some problems with the user32.dll file for sp2 users so if you run into a problem there you would need to use replacer and go to backups fodler and put your old user32.dll file over the top.

GUIR2.0 by shacal is in developement and i will be updating this module as soon as G.A.N.T 3 comes out in jan next year to work with the new version of the program. that will definately work on sp2 without a single problem and you will also be able to choose what elements you would like to change and what elements you dont want to change i'll be releasing 3 modules around the end of jan - early feb if things go well and GUIR 2.0 finally comes out.. Snowe.2, Gant 3 and Xi Enhance by steve smith.

Great set of icons and animations! love it

I cant get all my folders changed though they show as the original icons, and when i check in the folder properties the gant folder icon shows... how to fix this ?

the only thing i can think of is that you need to rebuild your icon cache, im pretty sure its included in tha pack otherwise good for rebuild icon cache and you'll find a few progs that do it. one is an xp powertool. if thats not the case then all i can think is that you had some other software changing the icons, eg icon packager, style xp and its stuffed things up.

Congratulations man. This is truly amazing .
One problem though: it seemes i cannot make the msstyle to work... everything else installs just fine, but @ reboot there is no theme/msstyle.
WinXP SP2.

thanks a lot for you comments the visual style is not part of the package it was just what i had on at the time GUIR may replace msstyles ni the future but the cerator of the program has dissappeared again so whenever a new release comes out it should have that feature but for now.. no. sorry.

i'd been looking around for decent gui replacement for some time now, since xp came out
the few i'd tried forced me to replace windows entirerly u_u

but THIS is a great step forward

still, where do you get... sorry, where can I, mere mortal, get some themes for windows that don't actually make me want to shoot meself dead when i can't run windows normally?

the one on the screenshot is looks particularly nifty, or the one on the gant 1.9 (i think) screenshot

lol, thanks man but obviously all im doing is using reaources from other people and putting it together as a theme that uses a great program called GUIR. its really nothing that great just a time consuming tast.
