Fascinating how skies can change in seconds. This yellow-orange mass didn't last long, but I felt both threatened by the upcoming storm, and amazed by the unique atmosphere those colours created. I only want to share this feeling of massive sky hiding a storm that should break every second. No heavy criticts please, as the purpose is to show something I find really worthy, but I didn't have any opportunity to invest time in composition.You see a lake here, that is covered by snow. There is a small island in the middle. Enjoy!

personally I love storms, and I love this picture, you really capture the whole emotion, everything just coming together above you, you can't stop it or anything, just watch at it as it all unfolds, great shot!

I know what you mean about the feeling. Last winter i went hiking on a clear day and upon reaching the top of a mountain was covered in a thick fog and made lost, without a compass. Shortly thereafter, the fog became a cold rain.
I have, though, enjoyed the experience of being threatened. It reveals to us something of our mortality, of our role, and of the power of the earth & its elements, among other things unexplicable.

Holy cow. The title confused me when I was just looking at the thumbnail of this image, but I definitely see it now. Looks more like smoke billowing down from the hill than it looks like sky.
