I just used a Canon digital. Hm, now that we are speaking of that, where do I register that kind of information under each photo, so it appears on the table to the right, among comments and such? Have seen it done before, by people

That is information provided by the file you upload. If you check the file properties for your photos, before doing any kind of editing to them, there should be some info about your camera model, different modes set when you took the shot, etc. After resizing and adding a border for the deviation version of a photo with GIMP, I usually check the "save exif data" box at the save point, to keep those details in the new file as well.

Beautiful capture. Love the brilliant yellow colour of the leaf - it's gorgeous! I really like how you've just mainly focused on the front of the leaf as well and left sort of the back of it to blend out of focus. Also the needles off to the side are neat too... they kind of help to enclose this photo and keep the focus on the leaf moreless. I also like the fall colours in the background there too, a nice touch and very complimenting to the leaf itself. Well done.
