Haha if I cared about strangers giving me critique, I wouldn't have put this option up! xD
Didn't notice the arm, thank you for pointing it out! C:
Yep, since this is PokeSpe, I wanted to keep the pikachus true to the manga style. I thought Pika was just the cutest thing when i first saw him in the manga! xD
Thank you for the feedback!

So cute! Β Though I think you forgot that the female Pikachu's tail tip is heart-shaped.

Thank you so much! Copics are so much fun. I'm glad I took the risk and got them, because I've never colored so well in my life. (Given, its not great coloring, but its a start yes?)
Backgrounds are pain for me too, believe me! I'm forcing myself to learn, since its good for manga-making, and it makes every picture nicer!!
Thank you! I will not lose my motivation! *w*

Markers are much faster. That might be why I enjoy using them so much versus my color pencils. I never had to patience to nicely color anything using them.
Working fast isnt actually really difficult. Did you see Jo color the skin? She colored the face first with the skin base, then to blend, she only worked on one side of the face, so she can switch and blend faster. Then she shades the other side, and repeats this several time to get the blending she wants. C: It will not be a difficult task at all if you do it in small parts.
Only 5? Which colors?
It's much easier to blend when you work with dark colors, cuz they dont dry as fast (for some reason.) Oh yeah, as a warning, dark colors spread and bleed more so than light colors. In fact, light colors dont spread or bleed very well at all, so thats just a cautionary note for you.
Backgrounds are overkill. I spent more time coloring the background then I do the foreground. OTL
Yay!! But I dont want to lose it! I really want to do something with art for a career, so I must keep on improving. I only got 2 years until university, so I gotta work work work!!

haha! Self torture? well if it gets the job done...I guess its ok? xD
If you need advice, I can always try to help OTL. I'd love to watch Jo color i real life, but I dont think anyone has or ever will.
Must be hard to blend with only those 5! Dx the color range is so different! Although looks like R129 and V162 COULD blend if you worked at it enough.... Maybe B159 and G158. Do you try blending them together?
I went to an Anime con and saw Copics being sold there. I was tempted to buy a few to play with, but they were selling them really overpriced, and I didnt want to accidentally buy a marker that would be in the set 72B, so I just didnt. I had to order my set, so while I waited, I got 2 markers and played with them until I got my marker set. It's much more different whne you have more colors than just 2 or 5 of them.
I want to go manga work for a living too. My parents are asking me what I want to study, and honestly, I really just want to do something with anime art, like maybe animation, game design, or my favorite, manga work, but unfortuntely, i'm too scared to tell them. They want me to go into medicine, but I dont like medicine very much anymore. The idea doesnt really appeal to me.
I dream of being a mangaka too! I'd love nothing more than to wake up every morning in a little apartment, and wait for my assistants to show up (or if I'm the assistant, go to work) and all of us just draw together. All. Day. Long. C: And best part: no need to dress up for work!!

The final work will always be worth the torturing, unless for some terribly reason it turns out horrible, but most of us would hope that doesnt happen! xD
Of course, I love to teach others how to color. Makes me feel like I know what i'm doing OTL. I met Jo once, but it was just kinda like a buyer-customer relationship. She was pretty cool though, and so was her friend! I bought the last Miku print she had in stock for $1, and her friend, who drew Manku, offered it for free to me, and Jo started laughing, and all 3 of us were laughing, so I took it. xP
Oh well then you found what works for you! Yay! Life is good!! Keep it up. ANd YAY FOR BIRTHDAYS AND BIRTHDAY MONEY! Always great stuff!! I'd get Copics to play with this time around, if you're planning on getting Copics later. But you'll have to look up colors that aren't in sets that you may potentially buy, to avoid wasting money.
I need lots of colors. Like actually do need it. Anything less than 50 colors is unacceptable for me. Every year, I'd buy a new set of 72 Crayola Color pencils because every year, I'd use some of them up, or I let people use them and they would lose like a third of my pencils, and I'd get SO mad. Really really mad. So I always get a new set each year. Prismas are so great. Even with only 36 colors, I can create more colors by blending. (even thogh I dont use my color pencils, I feel awesome having them) and 120 PRISMA PENCILS? That's a lott!!!!!! *w*
My parents do want me to be happy too, like they told me, but I still dont think they accept my art as a serious career. Like I understand you gotta be GOOD to make money, but I'm not really into money, and I can get good enough to feel confident of my abilities in the next 2 years! My dad told me that I have shown "some talent" for art, but not enough to make it a career, but that was before I got my Copics. His tone has been changing lately, but he still sees it as a hobby rather than a possibly career, so I'll work at it and prove them wrong!
And honestly, they wouldn't/couldn't stop me if I pursue art. Maybe they wont be happy with it, but hey, it is pretty much decision, yes?
The only pity is that I do really well in school, and I guess they expect me to do soemthing with my good scores and pursue a knowledgable career rather than art. I kinda feel like I'm letting myself down, but I honestly wouldn't be happy with anything else, unless I somehow change my mind in the next 2 years.
No need to dress fancy, wake up whenever, and just draw/plan before the deadline is up, hanging out with people you choose to work with you, how great is that?

I dont mind wasting the time, its just I hate wasting the paper! I screwed up 3 pictures so far, and its a pain, since the paper costs a lot. If I mess up, I dont mind, since I can usually replicate the drawing free handed, or just use tracing paper if I'm really lazy, although most of the time, when I mess up, its cuz I drew somethings really weird, an I noticed them, and I decide to restart.
I learned to be more careful with my inking too, but most of the problems froms the the sketching. I don't notice the mistakes until AFTER I ink, which is really unfortunate.
Oh well, in that case, just buy the Korean markers. I forgot Copics are really hard to obtain outside of the US and Asia. I have a lot of foreign friends who always complains about Copics because they have a hard time finding them.
hahah yeah! Yeah He was so funny. xD
I rarely ask for anything from my parents, so I can save all the expensive gifts for my birthday and Christmas. Although I usually ask for one either once a year, or once every few years. I dont mind people handling my art supplies if I'm there to watch them. If they steal/break/damage etc anything, I go ballistic. *w* My Copics must be the most sacred thing I own right now. xD And jeez, 120 is still a lot. I'd be so happy if I had 120 as well, but seeing as I dont like color pencils anymore very much, my 77 copics are enough to keep my happy...for now....
Watch, come Christmas time, I'm going to be begging for another set for Copics. probably. We will see xD.
Thanks! I will keep working at it then!
I think my parents might know in the back of their head that I'm set on pursuing art, but I guess they're hoping I might change my mind. Using the guilt trip to make me change my mind LOLz. No way! XD
Being a mangaka would be aaamaaazzing!! <3

I just sketch really lightly now. I dont have to worry about tearing holes in the paper, since my thick marker paper is really good in terms of enduring constant erasing. I used to always damage my paper because it was so thin, and I drew so darkly, and I would erase so much so I would tear it. But luckily, I improved a lot before I got my copics, so now I can usually get stuff right the first few times, and I dont have to erase a ton. I used to sketch on something, trace it, and make copies, but now I feel confident enough to be able to sketch once. It's time saving. You will be able to one day! C:
I love the inking and coloring process now. I enjoy sketching too, but once I ink it, if it looks nice, I get so excited. Adding color makes me even more excited. C:
Well that's good! Copics are pretty worth it I think, even with its difficulty to acquire.
AHAHAHAHAH!!!! Oh my goodness, I love that! An old lady with her garden dwarfs. C: Really good similie! I can totally imagine you freaking out too.
Well, that's always a good thing. You'll need them to last for a while. When do you think you'll be ready for copics?
Wooow your mom is a university teacher? That's really awesome! What does she teach?
And I've been meaning to ask you for a while. Your profile says you're from Romania, and I assume you don't live in Asia or the USA, since you say that Copics are hard to come by. But you English is amazing! It's incredibly good, and I've never seen someone outside of Australia, England, or USA write such fluent English.

HAHAHA that sounded like fun! (what you did with your prismacolors)
Prismas are easier to get than Copics. Actually, here in the US, I found a set of 24 selling at a local office-supplies store. Copics, you gotta drive like 30 minutes to an hour to an art store to get them. >.<
They're not PROFESSIONAL markers, but they are the PREFERRED choice of markers for PROFESSIONAL artists. x) I think there's a difference. x)
And I probably already mentioned it, but I had absolutely no experience using any coloring tool before I got my copics, and it was huge risk in itself for me to use them. I'm just glad I managed to get the hang of them so fast! Now just comes improvement until my coloring is neater and nicer! C:
Ooohhh since you were 3? I only learned when I was 5. I was speaking Cantonese, since I lived in Macau. (next to Hong Kong) We moved to the USA when I was 5, which was when I started learning English, but I can still speak Cantonese, just not read or write it. i'd love to learn Japanese, and i'm learning Spanish in school right now. ^^
It's so good that you kept your interest in English and are continuing to learn it! Good for you! English is used worldwide, so its a really language to know. ^^
My friends all take French, and they all love the language, but say its a hard language as well. ^^ Although the romantic languages all have similar roots, I think French has a significant amount of differences! I'd also like to learn Portuguese. My dad speaks it, and i'm half, so i want to be able to understand it too!!
Dont worry! I have a Mexican friend who fails Spanish.

That was the point. xD She was pretending to be a guy so others dont know shes actually a girl, but it was revealed towards the end of the Yellow arc that she was actually a girl. And she was little girl Red saved in the first few volumes from a Dratini in Viridian Forest.

Thank you!
