I've been neglecting my fandoms for some original work. I haven't drawn anything original in 5 years+. ORZand I are planning an epic but hilarious vampire doujin. Hopefully we can get a script and storyboard up running soon.
I can't decide if I like the spelling Bastian or Bastien more. Bastien looks more French than Austrian though. XP
We have the whole mythos almost figured out but I'll put that down later.
I really want to see this in print, but I'm so intimidated by the standards of the merchandise sold at CF2009. ORZ
And I realise that I can't bring myself to draw in the generic manga style. XP

And he has the most frilly clothes ever. I just realised my clothing designs are from the wrong period. But they look nicer! 8D

I thought we coud do historical fiction. Like make nods to real history but keep it really loose. I'm not too keen on the gears and machines of steampunk. XP

I think it's fine on its own, it doesn't have to be manga-styled to be sold at CF
(I agree, this year the standards have improved quite a lot...)

Hmm, I just noticed that the silly impressionable girls we hope to target with this manga are drawn to pika pika big eyed art rather than solid more realistic art. I realise my art is more Disney than manga-styled now. XP
I hope I will be able to produce a decent one compared to my unfinished Saiyuki one I did in form 5. ORZ

Not sure about offset printing though...but from what my mates tell me, it's good to start with low quantity (25-30 sets for 1st round) but of high quality (hi-res? colour?). When it's stable, you can try the offset-printing in time

Yes, true. I personally never buy original doujinshis EVER. I'm just too terrified of a lame story/characters. XP At least with fan doujins I already love the characters so even if the story is crap (with Engrish) I can just admire the art.
Wow, so few books? I was hoping to print 50 so that the cost will be lower and have some for online sales.

Well, my mates printed 50 for last year's CF, and even with online sales, they still have leftovers around the 20s for this year's =w=;;;
I guess it depends on what original doujin we're producing...but I have no doubt yours will definitely hit the mark

I think their proofreaders have Engrish problems too. XP It's really jarring, especially when there are problems with tenses or plurals.

Bastien would be okay if you'd choose a french surname but with the "Von Hildebrandt" it definitely sounds too austrian/german. But eh sorry for talking too much about it xD Just ignore me xD.
