I really like the color scheme and backdrop, the lighting and sky gives me a nostalgic longing for a perfect landscape too. And as for the foreground it looks very well done.

Thank you.:>
It´s easy to find backgrounds for floaty poses like this.
*sigh*
I really want to do some sketching again, there are several colour schemes left I´d like to try for this kind of artwork. Wish me luck my professors won´t give me more essays or presentations to prepare.X´D

Yeah... especially in the summer semester. It´s a lot shorter than the winter semester, meaning once you finished the exams from the winter one, you almost have to start learning already for the summer exams again.

But you really did it justice! you drew her wonderfully :'3
I've always loved traditional drawings digitally coloured. May I ask you how did you add the textures? Maybe with overlay or multiply layers

Oh thank you so much!! I'll save this message ^^

So I'll keep that in mind ^^

There's definitely something nice about colouring sketches digitally, even the simple ones can magically become awesome. Not that I'm saying yours simple coz it isn't. Helluva lot of flowing lines, really. Right, totally elegant and compelling. As you pointed out someday past, we do share interest for twisty elegant silhouettes. It's lovely and the colour scheme fits it so well!

It´s sometimes ridiculous how a complicated painting, that looks awesome at first glance, turns out to be an anatomical, perspective...ical (?) or architectual nightmare when you analyze it more closely. And it annoys me when drawings like this get lots and lots of praise, while great artists with a clean and structured style are ignored. I´ve seen this so often, especially among the people I watch here. A lot of their paintings are DD- or frontpage-worthy, but they barely get more than 20-50 favourites and half a dozen comments most of the time.
I don´t have a problem with complicated drawings, don´t get me wrong here, as long as the artist knew what they were doing and you can make out the focus of the picture easily. For example celtic knots used as a background or lots of flowers/petals. It gets too overboarded the moment you can´t divide easily between background and the featured character(s) anymore, until then anything is fair game.
Look at Alfons Mucha, for example. He had lots of flowery, flowy details in his paintings, but always drew a very clean lineart with thicker lines around the respective character. I love his works.<3

Yeah, that's all quite annoying. Seriously, now I'm wise enough to, for example, draw a proportional body before I cover most of it with clothes or something. I draw comfort from knowing that any uncovered limb is in its proper place.
But I guess people are drawn to the unknown? Maybe most of them don't realize that the lots of details are just a pretty cover. I also suspect that, for some, lots of intricancies equal experience, imaginativeness, and maybe superiority. Or maybe they are overwhelmed by the flood of information and peg it for a good feeling. (wow, that's some psycological stuff)
Yes, of course, I'm a fan of moderation myself, so as long as something's making sense, I'm game
And the style that Mucha represents is one of my favs, very clean and clear I always admire those type of works on deviantart.

I guess it´s the overwhelming-aspect that comes into play here. If there is so much information presented to you at once, you just glance over it and don´t look if all the details make sense or not. I was guilty of that, too, when I first came into contact with dA and the impressive amount of artworks here. It took me quite a while to acquire an eye for angles, anatomy and proportions. And cheap effects made by digital filters, that may look nice as a background, but are (at least most of the time) pretty much testament for a lazy or unskilled artist. I´ve seen whole galleries filled with typical photoshop-filter-backgrounds and it bugs me when people get praise for their ability to use the filler tool and press three buttons.:I

I was able to learn really effectively and quickly during my time as a pupil. When I started studying this ability began to decrease and now I´m lways struggeling before exams.*sigh*
It went alright, I guess. The exams was split in two parts. One went really good, the second not as well. There he asked about a lot of stuff that was mentioned by a guest-professor during a lecture I had missed because I was sick that day. I thought he wouldn´t make it part of the exam, because it wasn´t his subject/lecture, and so I wasn´t as thorough learning that part afterwards. But it could still be a good grade, depending on how many points he´ll give for which question/answer.

I think I was pretty lazy even as a child. If I didn't want to learn something, that is. Now I learn just enough to pass everything I need. Never bothered with good grades, they don't show the factual state of your knowledge.
Oh, it's a shame you didn't know that, you could be better prepared then >.< glad it went well enough, though.

Well, I'm quite the opposite then xD I don't pay attention to things that won't be useful to me in any way or those I haven't even tiniest interest in, like politics. I know that it's a somewhat ignorant outlook, but I can't help it, as my attention span is practically non-existent towards things I'm not curious about. I envy people who have wide general knowledge, not being capable of possessing it myself, but came to understand it's just how I am. And I'm pretty happy with the knowledge that I have regardless. My friends always laugh at me, good naturedly mind you, when I state some non sequitur random animal fact, for example ^^
And as for work, in Poland is hard to find too, but the only grade that really matters and which may show on records when looking for work is a grade you get for writing your thesis. Haven't checked it myself yet. Either way, the thing that really matters is experience and everyone expects from you at least 1 year experience while looking for your first job. How idiotic is that? Therefore, my plan for now is search for work outside our borders, manual work, probably, just to earn a few pennies in the beginning.
Oh my god, good luck with that then! Sound horrible and I totally agree. I hate it when people expect that you remember every detail. What's important is to get the gist, so you know where you stand, and when the situation calls for deeper knowledge, you can always turn to books and internet and notes. To give an example, when I had psychology connected with teaching our prof just needed us to remember the textbooks instead of understanding, and she really spent too much time on subject of teaching handicaped children and its intricancies, when the probability of teaching them is quite low in a regular school, and it was plainly an overkill.
Don't know how your system works, but for me it's pretty easy now, coz it's the last year. But the sophomore year was a nigthmare, gosh... Still don't know how I lived through 2 month long exam session... And the bulimia thing is pretty present in Poland too, I rarely remember the content of an exam I wrote a moth ago, so... >.> In our system they keep adding things to cirriculum, forgetting that the time we have to learn all of it doesn't lengthen with it. And most of the knowledge is outdated and not relevant anymore :/
this comment grew quite considerably in length without my noticing, sorry ^^"

Sorry for the late reply, but I´ve been awfully busy these last few days and since I wanted to take my time to answer this, it went to the bottom of my have-to-answer-list.^^'
Politics is something I don´t really like, too. But it´s surprising what you can discover in the news with just a bit of historical background knowledge. My father is very interested in politics, especially the international kind. He often explains the backgrounds of politicians decisions or actions to me and it´s actually quite interesting then. It´s just that I don´t have the time besides studying and my few hobbies (I rarely get to draw anymore, stupid college *sniff*) to actively follow the news.
Random facts out of the animal or plant kingdoms are my speciality, too. Did you know that the mexicans eat corn infected by a certain fungus, that makes the maize-cob all black and bloaty? They call it 'the shit of god'.XD
Or that the penis of ducks shrivels and falls off every year? It regrows the next mating season and its size is determined by the number of competetors. So amazing.X)))
Well, they also look at the mean of your grades, and if it is too low the grade of your thesis can´t help you out much, either.:/
Yeah... I´ve seen the same when I was looking for job offers. Everyone expects one or better three years of experience and no one wants to give freshly graduated students a chance. They all expect you to work for free or minimal wage for a few years first, and that is complete bs in my opinion! Right now I´m working hard to finish up many of my modules within the first two semesters, so I have the third one to go jobbing in between the few lectures that are left. Always assuming I even find one.*sigh*
I totally agree with you. As long as you know why and how something works, who needs to know all the little details? When you work in a laboratory you always have SOPs, detailed instructions with all the steps and needed ingredients, to execute an experiment. You don´t have to remember them, just why you do the steps, so you can possibly modify the protocol to your special needs.
Well, for us right now it´s 15 modules within three semesters. We can choose from a list and have to make our schedules by ourselfes. As long as you have the right amount of credits in the end, no one really cares what courses you take when. That´s actually pretty cool. Only problem is that the profs don´t care if their lectures interfere with the ones of their collegues, so they often overlap and you can´t always take the courses you want, but have to compromise. Right now I´m struggling a bit because there is a surprise!-practical-course to one of my lectures that won´t fit into my schedule, so now I have to switch one of my modules and the only one that fits with everything else is already full and has a long waiting list. I´ll talk with the prof personally tomorrow if I could still participate... since he didn´t answer my mails before the start of the semester.:I
That really sucks! If the stuff you have to learn is at least important for your future career it wouldn´t be half as bad to learn it all. But when you know that it´s basically useless... bye bye, motivation!">___>

Oh, that's alright, I also prefer to reply when I have a bit of peace ^^
Well, if I had someone who would give me filtered info about politcs, I could listen, no problem. but I hate watching the news and television overall. And if something happens, that is all over the news, there is always someone who will relay it to me, so I don't follow news myself. I'm lazy like that.
Oh, I didn't know those, thanks! I never remember any facts when I need them... Like, right now my mind's totally blank xD
We've talked lately in classes about 'brain drainage' and a classmate told the story of his friend who wanted to be a lawyer, finished law school, but couldn't find any job without some connections (as it's expected in this field) so he emigrated to capital and was given the job of a game tester. He loves it so much now that he doesn't want to be a lawyer anymore. An educated person who wants to make something out of themselves... a game tester. That's my country in a nutshell.
Oh, we don't really choose basic modules. There are few additional ones that we can choose from, but really, the curriculum is set. In my uni at least. I know that Warsaw Uni is more like yours.
And matching the schedule really sucks. You would expect schools to enable learning and make things possible for people who want to learn! Only good things can come out of it, no? I have a lot of classmates who do two different studies at the same time, in different universities even, and they always have some kind of problems with this or that professor. Or the system. Always the system.
And I cannot find a high school teacher who will take me so I can fkn do my teacher practics. I don't know when I will be able to finish them.

I don´t even have a tv for myself. I watch the news over the internet, if something important happens and that´s it. Most of the movies and series in german television are either of abyssmal quality or I´ve already seen them online, so it would be kind of redundant to own a tv.:>
It´s okay, tell me some of yours when they come to your mind. I´d love to broaden my horizon.:3
Yeah... there are many cases like this here, too. But sometimes it´s a conscious decision, caused by stress and a lack of satisfaction from the original job. A lot people are unhappy with their careers here, even if they are very successful. We have a very high rate of burn-out-syndrome in the academical or financial job sectors. Sixty hour weeks aren´t uncommon, even if only 40 are paid. That´s the reason why germany has such a stable economy while most of europe is struggling.:/
Well, it´s always dependend on how broad the subject of your studies can be stretched. I´m studying agricultural sciences, that includes plant breeding, crop protection, quality management, agribusiness, even molecular biology and biotechnology are included. You can specialize yourself in many different ways. I guess for a teacher you have to have a basic knowledge of everything concerning the subjects you want to teach later, there is not much of a choice or specialization there.
It really sucks that no-one wants to give you the chance to finish your teachers practice. Schools of a certain size should be obligated to take in college students every year, so they can do their practical courses. I know my school did so regularly. We sometimes had college students for music, german and sports. A parallel class had russian and english with different students for a few weeks every year. It was always fun and the students tried out lots of inovative new ways to convey the learning matter. I don´t see why this should be a problem, especially if it´s in agreement to the regular curriculum and pearranged with the normal teacher.o__ô

Polish television is the same, I've stopped watching it like ten years ago, because there's nothing to watch. All the shows are for masses now and intelligent people won't find anything there. But then, there the Internet if you want to watch sth in particular.
We own a tv because mom sometimes uses it. I use it to, if I want to watch something on bigger screen; I just need to connect to pc.
Oh, the ones I remember always are the most obvious ones, like male lions sleeping 22h a day, or that frigatebirds steal fish from other birds in mid flight therefore they're called 'sky pirates of animal kingdom', or that cats uses this with rattling voice that sound like kh-kh-kh when they see a prey out of their reach.
The more interesting one always come up when I don't need them :>
Yep, lack of satisfaction is a problem here too, that's why the imigration percentage is so high. And Polish are hardly workaholics, so we don't really work more than we need to. We are not a hard working people anymore. That was 10-20 years ago, despite what other countries think.
My primary field of study is english philology, though, so I can expand however I want after. The teacher practice is an independend specialization that students of any field can finish in addition to their major. It's not even provided by University. And we have a list of teachers available for our practices, but it seems that the second years are stealing them for themselves :< Instead of waiting for the third year when they will have much more free time, they're doing it now and booking our teachers. But no one is interested in that. I'll will just have to finish the practice in september, though I will need to pay an additional fee. I haven't expected for events to turn out like this, but I guess I waited to long, too.

I´m glad to have a decent scanner and to be able to use the respective firmware on settings for professionals. It´s so much easier to correct contrast, colours and the like before the actual scan than having to work with a seperate program like photoshop after it´s done.
