The wolf spider family Lycosidae are easy to distinguish by their large eye pattern and hunting preference. With 3100 species of wolf spiders, the Hogna carolinensis is the largest. But my giant is definitely a gentle one, she has always been calm and sweet with me. luckily I'm not a cricket.
