Description

So, a DA user asked if I could do a Shadow and Sonic Swap AU, and while I don't normally do requests, this was a bit different...

...Because I had already been working on a Swap AU for the two, and this just gave me an excuse to share it... XD

So, allow me to introduce Hedgeswap! (couldn't think of a better name... XD)

Team Shadow :

Shadow the Hedgehog ; the Black Blaze

Current Hero of Mobius and speedster, Shadow skates around fighting evil alongside his little sister, Cream. While he isn't afraid of water like Canon Sonic is, he does have a severe case of claustrophobia (and a slight fear of heights, though that one is more manageable) He also has a love for anything spicy, especially Buffalo Chicken Pizzas. He got his nickname, 'The Black Blaze' due to appearing as nothing but a black blur when running, and the scorchmarks left behind by his hoverskates (though he has long since fixed them so they won't burn the ground behind him...) When not battling evil, he can usually be found tinkering in the workshop at him and Cream's house listening to Heavy Metal, or at the nearest Pizza place.

Age : 15

Cream the Rabbit

While she doesn't handle the machinery like Canon Tails does (Shadow taking over the machine stuff alongside the speed stuff) she does oftentimes keep her adopted big brother out of trouble, breaking up fights between him and Rouge while often having to negotiate with others for the group as well, as neither Rouge nor Shadow are very good at keeping their tempers in check. She's also the only one out of the three that can cook without the kitchen burning down. Unlike Canon Cream though, this one is a bit snarky and sarcastic (mostly due to living with Shadow for most of her life) and while she is still extremely polite, she doesn't call everyone 'Mr.' or 'Miss' like she usually does in Canon. (She's also saved her brother on multiple occasions, mostly when he doesn't look where he's going and goes flying off a cliff....)

Age : 10

Rouge the Bat ; Guardian of the Master Ruby

Taking Knuckles place, Rouge is the last of a tribe of bats that once inhabited Angel Island, guarding over the Master Ruby and occasionally Chaos Rubies whenever she finds one. While she isn't as gem-obsessed as her canon counterpart is, she does still love all things shiny and sparkly, oftentimes easily distracted with a gem, while the Master Ruby is stolen behind her back. She's not nearly as flirtatious as she is in canon either, but aside from that she's mostly the same. Whenever she isn't guarding the MR, she'll be exploring the old ruins, searching for anything and everything shiny left behind in them, or taking a quick flight to the nearest coffee shop, though she hardly ever leaves the MR's side.

Age : 19

Team Strike :

Sonic the Hedgehog ; the Ultimate Lifeform

Frozen in a G.U.N base for 50 years, this Sonic is a lot more... calm, compared to his canon counterpart. While he does still love chilidogs and running, he's not nearly as happy-go-lucky as he usually is, taking a far more serious temperment like canon Shadow (While Swap Shadow is a lot more energetic...) Currently working for G.U.N alongside his teammates, he can usually be found hanging out in the living area of Knuckles' Bar, either watching TV or just eating chilidogs while he broods in the window. Whenever he runs into Shadow, he usually enjoys taunting him, oftentimes leading to Sonic taking off into the distance with Shadow not far behind him screeching out threats about how he's 'Not a kid' and 'Not Short'.

Age : 18 (technically 68 but Cryosleep doesn't count... XD)

Knuckles the Echidna

One of G.U.N's top agents, Knuckles runs a bar in Station Square when he's not on a mission. He also occasionally heads off to Angel island to steal the Master Ruby, oftentimes leading to a fight between him and Rouge. Despite his claims of just wanting the Ruby for himself, both his teammates know he's just trying to get an excuse to go and flirt with Rouge. Despite being a loner usually, Knuckles has grown rather fond of his team, even allowing them to live in the apartment above his bar, despite how destructive they can be. While he is a bit of a flirt, he only really flirts with Rouge, claiming that 'It's just an easy way to distract her so he can steal the Master Ruby'...No one really believes his claim's though...

Age : 19

Metal Sonic ; Killer Robot Extreme

Formerly a robot under the command of The Traveler, Due to a faulty code in his programing, Metal's loyalty to his creator was practically nonexistant, and he ended up teaming up with Sonic and Knuckles to get revenge for being left in a vault collecting dust. He's the most violent out of the group, and can usually be provoked by the simplest of things, and oftentimes goes overboard with the destruction he causes. He and Sonic can oftentimes be found racing eachother, as Metal is one of the few beings that can keep up with both Sonic and Shadow. he's also, oddly enough, taken up baking, seemingly enjoying the act of cooking despite not being able to eat anything himself. He can usually be found in the kitchen cooking or watching tv with Sonic.

Aaaaaand thats it. thats the AU so far. I have a lot more planned out for it (including Eggman's swap, but I won't say anything about them for a while... XD)

I actually intend to make a comic of this! I've already kinda got the beginning planned in my head, I just need to start work on it... XD

But yeah, the requests actually gave me an excuse to post this (not that I needed an excuse... XD) I'll probably be working more on this later on, though there probably won't be any art posted tomorrow, Since I'll be doing the usual Sonic Sunday Livestream... XD
