Thank you very much OpiateTart, you are the first person to do a critique on my submissions and it's appreciated!!!
I saw some of your other critiques and it's really good that not only do you take the time to do them but you really go the effort to make your comments valuable and relevant!!
What you said was very appropriate, I think you'll find of the thousands of people who own these dolls there is a high proportion of them who are obsessed with the perfection that the dolls can represent that is lacking in our own view of ourselves and others around us.
It was the first time I had ever had gel nails done, it was lengthy, expensive and they were annoying to have on for a month or so but when I first left the salon I couldn't stop looking at them thinking "They look so perfect, my hands look perfect now" and being a little preoccupied with my hands every movements in the weeks to follow I started to realise why people wear makeup, get plastic surgery, dye their hair, fake their nails etc etc . . . . I became obsessed with the doll perfect nails I'd been given. Then one day a few weeks later I misjudged grabbing the handle getting into my car and it snapped off partically! I looked at what was left underneath which was a meld of old nail, new nail and the glue sludge substance that was holding it all together and though to myself "It's broken, the perfection is broken, it looks disgusting, it's over".
Then ironically enough in the hours between then and when I got home, I'd knocked another two accidentally and then 3 were gone. When I came in the house and saw the dolls I instantly knew that the juxtaposition needed to be captured!!
Wow, that was a blab and a half . . . . but in short, yes you nailed it (no pun intended), we are often blind to the red line that stands between what is real and what is not (in the context of 'erception of self'
Thank you . . . . I didn't expect anyone to notice

Hello! I thought this picture was beautiful! I actually wanted to use it for my new RP forum. I have put it up there, but have put your name on the picture itself. I was wondering if it is okay? If you wish for me to remove it please let me know! I love your artwork!

Such a magnificent conceptual piece. Very clear yet very questioning at the same time. One piece to be noted by many.

I think dolls are our way of achieving perfection. it's kinda funny how humans make effigies of themselves, and people have been making dolls since the beginning of time.i think it's a way of preserving part of ourselves when we know that we will eventually fade away. the perfect image of our whimsy and innocence that will live until the end of time, or something like that anyways great photo.
i could keep going but i won't

No no, it's quite OK, people tend to not give much detail when commenting on DA!!! I plan to do lots more when I get my new camera, I just love photographing dolls!

I adore this! This so wonderfully captures the very essence of humans and dolls...we can create this whole world through dolls, acting to be something we aren't, but when it comes down to it...we're all just broken, seeking perfection.
Sorry, I'll hush now...but before I do, I just want to say I LOVE THIS!
