Rainbow Dash woke abruptly, wide awake in an instant.
The complete absense of whatever had startled her was apparent immediately. Everything around her was black. Not darkness, simply the color black.
Confusion rose, when Dash was unable to recall the events that had led up to her being in a black void. She couldn't even see her own hooves.
Discomfort.
She couldn't feel them, either.
Anxiety.
She flapped her wings - or tried to, there was no feeling there, as well. Not even numbness.
Panic.
Suddenly, a blue cube. In the middle of her field of vision.
Confusion paramount, Rainbow Dash went crosseyed. Or tried to, as moving her eyeballs proved ineffective.
Which, if anything, made her frustrated.
And then, out of nowhere, spoke Twilight Sparkle:
"...not working? Arrg! If Circuit messed with my equipment again I swear I'll---"
"Twilight?"
Silence.
"R-- Rain-- Rainbow Dash?"
"Yeah? Twi, where are you? I can't see anything in this... this..."
...That cube in the middle of where her face should be was really distracting.
"Where are we?"
Silence.
"Twi?"
More silence. Breathing.
"I can't feel my--- My everything! I can't feel anything!"
Another silent treatment. Panic rising again.
"T-twilight, what's--- what happened to me? Am I gonna---"
"NO! No, not again. Never again. You'll never leave me again. Never. None of you will. NEVER AGAIN!!"
"Uh..."
Sounds of glass breaking. Something, presumably a stack of books, falling over.
Ragged breathing.
Rainbow Dash remained silent, this time.
...That stupid cube at the corner of her vision was like an itch!
No, Dash, focus!
She scowled at herself - or attempted to, at least.
"Twilight, are you... okay? You're kinda freaking me out here. And that's saying something!"
"It's... I'm just..."
A sniffle.
"I'm just so glad you're back..."
In other words: Nice picture!
Makes me think of necromancy computer science.
