Description Converse shoes that I customised for a friend a while back. These pics are only of 2 of the sides, but you get the idea.

Originally all white, I used dye, fabric paints, glue, fake fur and new accessories to change them. So far they have survived all punishment thrown at them and are washable.

He's a munkey in human disguise, so he apparently likes the shoes a LOT.

Am happy to do this sort of thing for anyone willing to buy the shoes and put in a little $ towards materials.

Thanks!
He digs them, which is my main interest. I like having the chance to play around and see what I can come up with for him.

The shoes are canvas with rubber toecaps and soles. Thanks for your comment! yeah, the fur seems to be a popular part of them! I'm looking forward to seeing yours when you post them up.

Ummm. Ok? the flame ones are cool.

thanks for the compliment!

I find that fabric paints, flexible glues and a lot of hand-stiching are essential. Making them machine-washable is also good, as this generally means that they can stand up to a fair bit of punishment and wear-and-tear (as well as being de-stinkable). Best thing for glueing onto the toe-caps is probably plactic model cement, as it melts the 2 (plastic) surfaces together and remains flexible after its dried. (Meaning that whatever you have glued on, stays on, during wear.)

Hope that helps?

yeah, unfortunately, PVA doesn't tend to stick to smooth surfaces like the toe-cap too well. And it doesn't flex enough and therefore cracks off pretty quick.

If you have trouble finding the cement, try a 'Games Workshop' store, I know they have them over there. Ask for the cement they use to glue the plastic miniatures together... it should work for you.
