Thank you so much for sharing this! Just started trying some of your technique here, and already my picture is getting great results without my usually struggle to maintain "crispness" in my image while blending.

Hello! I don't get step 3. What do you do with that 'command' button thing? I don't get it.
~Thanks!

Bubbles4224 In reply to The-Darkness-of-Fell [2013-07-13 17:50:32 +0000 UTC]

Its command on a mac but on a pc is control. Bottom left hand corner of most keyboards. It says Ctrl.

Very helpful! thanks, I am defiantly trying this
one question, I am very familiar with CS5, so I think I already know the answer but making sure, on step 6 where you do the darker hairs, you said you color pick the area you are working on, do you use a darker shade of that color? same goes for the lighter hairs, do you use the lighter shade of your base color?
just curious, I am excited to give this a try.

do you grid reference, or just normal referencing?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

feverpaint In reply to beaublanc [2012-09-29 18:29:12 +0000 UTC]

Depends on what I feel like doing and what the image is of. When I get portrait commissions where the commissioner wants me to draw a portrait of a horse referencing a photo I usually grid, but for personal images I don't

CherryHillFarms [2012-08-19 02:22:59 +0000 UTC]

So awesome ^^
Just a quick question though...
May I ask how you come up with the color pallete? Do you pick darker and lighter colors from the base coat or jut eyeball it all?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

feverpaint In reply to CherryHillFarms [2012-08-19 13:11:17 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!
I usually eyeball, at first I just scribble down as many colours as possible and then I go through them and maybe paint a little to see which ones goes together and which ones don't

SquirrelyTodd [2012-08-18 00:58:38 +0000 UTC]

you should do one of these for tack that would be fabulous

feverpaint In reply to SquirrelyTodd [2012-08-19 13:11:58 +0000 UTC]

Oh gosh tack would be pretty much impossible for me to do since I have no clue when it comes to tack But I'm guessing you mean shading and colouring then or?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SquirrelyTodd In reply to feverpaint [2012-08-19 16:47:36 +0000 UTC]

yeah, shading and coloring like you did here, because your tack is always flawless too
