Description Since I will be doing an explanation of the Seven Sages in the game THERE WILL BE SPOILERS SO BE CAREFUL!
Also apologies for all the design changes for the characters all their outfits look much better in the game.

This fanart was just for fun I gender swapped 3 of the characters because what they represent means their gender doesn't matter. Considering the wiki for Hyper doesn't explain what each sage represents I will do it myself in Fanart so other fans of the game can understand why this story is so well done compared to the previous two and why the villains behave in certain ways.

Pirachu: The reason for his design in the game is when piracy started to become a major problem in Japan started with the pokemon games and Pirachu represents those at the very bottom of the piracy chain who distribute. This would explain why he is so weak in the game and never really achieves much at all as those who distribute just do it for the money and arn't very loyal to anyone. This explains why he is mostly seen with Arfoire and Copypaste because those two represent different parts of piracy as well.

Arfoire: Her design of being a witch is based of her Japanese name Magiquone that is why it won't make as much sense to the Western audience. What she represents is a virus designed to help crack and 'homebrew' consoles and to get through their security measures so since she is related to piracy she is paired with others who represent it as well. It explains why she has such hatred towards the CPUs as she was an existence created to be harmful to the games industry and consoles in particular.

Mr. Bad: I have to say I dislike his western name so I will refer to him as Akudaijin which means evil minister and makes much more sense that way. Akudaijin's character design is directly based off a famous politician in Japan dedicated to bringing down the games industry so his character in the game represents any politician that has ever tried to bring down or belittle the games industry to get ahead in the world of politics so that represents the majority of politicians lol. Since politicians have frequently tried to cause problems for the games industry and always try to appear perfect in front of the public his character is done perfectly in the game and it would explain why he is one of the most successful of the seven sages. SPOILER... Also considering that Nintendo is considered the saviour of the games industry after the console market crashed in the early 80's it is understandable you first encounter him doing a plot in the nation of Lowee and then goes on to troll Blanc.

Rei Ryghts: She is the leader of the group and considering this is the world of the games industry its based in it makes sense as that she is the leader because SPOILER.... (She is a CPU based on the Atari). Her being the true villain of the game couldn't be more appropiate since as is explained on the wiki the Atari was responsible for the crash in the console market during 1983 a few years before the game starts and I won't say anymore than that but I was impressed by how well they handled her character.

Anonydeath: The troll of the game and is easily the most successful of the seven sages. WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD! I based his female design off the fact he considering himself a maiden at heart and when he leaves his power suit he considered a pretty attractive guy. The other reason I made him a female is because Anonydeath represents the infamous real life group of hackers known as Anonymous. Considering how Anonymous members can be anybody and can never truly be defeated this character is handled really well in the game and what Anonymous were most famous for was their attack on the PS 3 which explains his obsession with Noire. Since this character never gets beaten but leaves out of boredom much to the upset of some fans of the game but it makes sense considering who this character represents.

Copypaste: This character is actually a male robot but I changed him into a human female and based her appearance of his colour scheme and gave her a wild appearance dedicated to destruction. Copypaste represents part of the piracy chain and those who create the pirated games. His personality in the game isn't as obvious as some of the other characters but considering he represents a part of piracy it is understandable that he has such a destructive nature and is partnered with Arfoire on occasions during the game.

Abnes: Is a bit of a funny character really and chooses less aggressive methods due to who she represents from real life. She represents all the mothers that have been concerned about gaming and regularly claimed how damaging it is for younger children. However there are so many things in place now to help parents prevent their young children from seeing inappropiate content most of the blame can only be their fault rather than the industry. SPOILER It would also explain why she is someone you don't fight once and is the next most useless member of the seven after Pirachu.

This is to help those already beat the game enjoy it more since some of the references and what the villains represent can be hard to pick up on especially without the background knowledge that newer gamers might be lacking. Considering both the wiki and reviewers of the game didn't really seem to understand them either and there is a large Hyper fan base I thought I would help out and that way others can enjoy the story more.

But Atari wasn't entirely to blame for the crash of '83. Other factors included....

-E.T. 2600 (*cough* SIX WEEKS DEVTIME*cough*LANDFILL*cough*)
-Pac-Man 2600 (THEY RELEASED THE PROTOTYPE)
-Intellivision
-Colecovision
-Magnavox Odyssey 2
-Pornographic titles for the 2600
---Custer's Revenge
---Beat 'em and Eat 'em
---Etc.

Also: Good sages

-Anonydeath (Gay robot voiced by Senketsu FTW)
-Rei (UNDERAPPRECIATED ASF)
-Arfoire (Overly dramatic witch voices by Ragyo Kiryuin FTW)
-Copypaste (Friendship-loving giant robot voiced by Ira Gamagori and Hector)

Bad sages

-Badd (GETTING THE BAD JACK THOMPSON FLASHBACKS)
-Abnes (OH GOD THE ANITA SARKEESIAN WHIPLASH IT HURTS)
-Warechu (Shut the hell up you filthy rodent.)

Now we just need a sage based off of Sarko and other idiot feminazis (who, frankly, make me worry that I'll have to resort to offering worship to Arfoire for modern games, which I'd rather never do) and this team will be perfect.

No wonder I hated Abnes and Mr. Bad from the moment I saw them. Β Since they represent people who are, frankly, idiots. Β Banning violent or sexual video games isn't gonna do anything but make things worse, you two!

I love neptunia for the characters, the exchanges, and the fact that it is made by NIS who are famous for their great dialogue and rig making skills. As for my favorite sage, it's definitely Copypaste for his great design, being voiced by patrick seitz, and some of his awesome lines both before and after his personality is altered. "All their games must DIE! You eating right? I HAVE RICE!"

Copypaste is good fun and I have to say I didn't know Patrick Seitz voiced him as with my first play through I played the game with the Japanese voices as I heard the Dub has less voiced lines. I will listen to it in my next play through though so thanks for telling me.

It is just sad NISA won't be in this game at least its just a few more weeks when the DLC for the makers will be availaible I can't wait to play as Mages. I still think Victory is the best game yet and I really enjoyed the story.

The hyper series seem like great games.

Well the game is generally not too well received by the games industry itself due to its fanservice which doesn't make much sense to me since as DA shows there are girls cosplaying as characters so girls clearly don't care as much as some people think.

This is just to show to people that there is far more to its game than fanservice and that the villains of the game have a very clever design and in my opinion Victory has the best story yet out of the hyper games. I hope those that have beaten the game will come to appreciate the story more because of this but its hard to get the references as I had to look up a couple myself as I wasn't sure.

The game industry has i'ts weirdos. =3

Well it does get me interested in the game for sure with all these nice references based on things happening in and around gaming itself, very clever. ^^

That is true there is always a lot of misunderstandings across the net but I hope others will come to appreciate their efforts more. For example there is even a trophy in the western version of the game that unlocks when you have finished watching the intro. The description for the trophy then says I wonder how many games reviewers got this? I found that hilarious.

Exactly that is how I see it and how it managed to merge all these elements and issues from real life together and even give these characters a personality based off it as well was incredible. Not only are the characters entertaining but the story elements are well done, I tried to limit the amount of spoilers I put in such as game breaking spoilers but some had to be said to give examples. However there are many twists I didn't mention left in the game so the story should still be very enjoyable despite everything I have said here.

It is funny since most people skip intro's and such, but the first time i play a game i watch it. ^^

Do you think i'ts a good game for me?, because i do love things like references too real life and characters based on real life stuff or people.

Oh I meant the very start of the game so it can't be skipped because Hyper's first segment of the game doesn't have a chapter title but is known as the introduction. It is joke to imply that the reviewers didn't get any further than that before making a review. I know what you mean though and I do that myself

It has a lot of anime style humor and anime references too and there isn't too much grinding but it isn't an easy game so you have to be prepared. If you enjoy a good story with a lot of references to gaming and anime I think you will enjoy Hyper but some of the references are very hard to understand since I didn't understand them all myself and still don't.

Oh lol, my bad, pretty funny though.

What does it all reference too you do know?, and i enjoy a good story but the game should still be fun if i want to replay and so far most games don't give me that. .w.

No I wasn't clear enough its not your fault you misunderstood me and I would have made the same mistake myself so its my fault. Yeah it is funny because one review of the 2nd game in the series made some comment that was a reference to the first game so you could tell in her first paragraph she hadn't even played the game.

There are so many I would have to make a list lol but it makes references to Mario, Super metroid, Zelda, Fire emblem and that is just listing some from the Nintendo games. I see what you mean the only thing I can say is that you can do stuff you were not able to do on your first playthrough because it was too hard and there are 3 different endings overall. However if in doubt try and get it as cheap as possible if you can so you don't feel bad if it doesn't meet your expectations.

Hey i'ts not your fault. You'd rather let someone do an interview who played the past game.

Wow, thats pretty awesome. ah ok, thanks for the advice.

Thanks and that is how I feel as well it just goes to show that some people just shouldn't review it at all. If I was a reviewer I would make sure that I don't review any sports or car games because I think they are awful and boring. It wouldn't be fair on the fans of the games for me to give it a terrible review just because I don't like that kind of game.

I hope that helps and sometimes its best to buy cheap to be safe in my case my younger sister pre-ordered the special edition because she loves the series. Also despite what a lot of people say even buying 2nd hand helps the industry a lot as it allows those who bought first hand to buy again otherwise they couldn't afford to.

No problem, and indeed. yeah, you should atleast send someone who enjoys the games.

It does help, i'll look out if it gets cheap or not. hm, i wouldn't know i don't pay attention to it.

Well to be fair I did come across a review recently that gave it a 85 which was a nice change from what it normally gets.

Good I understand this certainly isn't a game for everyone so its best to be cautious with something new and even if I enjoyed I know many will not.
