Leaving a hot

He could taste it
That taste...
Heaven, perhaps?
Or was it just
The deception
Of hell?

The fiery complexion
Stunning, yet
So mild
Fragrance with a touch
Of bitter melancholy;
The taste of
Tragic parting

No different from
That day
When he finally
Did set out
To confront him...
Yes,
No different...

He knew
It was his turn
His turn to be
Independent;
To not come to him
And flash a
Toothy grin
And say gaily,
"One day I'll be big
And strong!"

A wry smile
Danced on his lip
He had grown
So much
Still an idiot
As always
But maturity had
Finally come upon
Him

A maturity that
He had hoped
He'd never see
No matter how much
He knew it would
Happen
He couldn't
Open his eyes
To accept
Reality

He didn't like
The way those words
"Big and strong"
Came from
His mouth
He didn't like
The stoney glance
Cold and
Excluding
Telling him,
"I will be big and strong
Without you."

Tea
He shook his head
Smiled and
Sighed
He had to grow
He knew

But why did it hurt?

"Igirisu!
I've come to visit!"

He heard
His voice
And quickly
Rubbed
The moisture from
His eyes

"Idiot..."
He muttered
And with a
Clenching heart
Set his cup down
And stood up to
Walk to meet
Him

Why did it hurt?

Whee, angst. Lousy poem, I do know, but I just can't pass up on writing about Arthur and his rather fail relationship with Alfred...I think their dysfunctional relationship is really beautiful. It all just boils down to the fact that Alfred 'rebelled' against Arthur, who let him go no matter how much it hurt, and thereafter seemed rather cynical about everything Alfred says. And Alfred acts like he had never hurt Arthur, ever. I'm not exactly sure where this leads them...

I am quite aware that Arthur's neck is awkwardly long on one side, and I am also quite aware that the colouring is rather bad. It should also be noted that his right cuff is impossibly narrow. I believe I need to brush up on my drawing and colouring abilities, digital or no.

The awkwardly colourful colours I incorporated into this piece was another experiment. I'm trying to see if I could put different colours together and still get a rather nice and complete image. I'd say I half-passed. There are parts I like and parts I don't like, but over all I think I accomplished what I had set out to do. I never had really high expectations anyway.

His tea cup and saucer is also awkwardly drawn, since I really dislike drawing anything that is even mildly rigid. And I didn't use the smudge tool at all, which is an accomplishment considering how much I rely on it in my previous pieces.
