Really good potential design! I'm so sorry that this guy broke! I think it would totally be worth it to remake, useing higher quality materials. What was the face made of? It looks like those plaster strips you wet with water, you know? But anyway, nicely accomplished and very unique!

I just put the whole mask in there. papermache is safe to put in the oven as its low temp

Well unfortunately this was my first mask so i wasn't using good materials (he broke). But if you want me to remake this one I totally can.

That is so beautiful... I just loce these combinations between hard and soft materials, such as fur with horns, bone, scales and so on... One day I'll have to do something like that on my own <3

Yeah the contrast between the hard and soft is what i think really makes this mask work. One day hope to remake this.

Its made of paper mache pulp and alitte sculpey in places

That's what I thought, that's why I'm a bit nervous about making a beak.
I want to make an owl fursuit sometime.

OOH, dont see to many owls. (darn i dont think i have any of my bird masks posted, bird masks is what im known for) I use a Styrofoam head base then use Plasticine clay(modeling/nondrying clay) to sculpt the beak and face plate, i make it a bit bigger the the head, because the foam heads are smaller then a human adult head. then i lay paper mache over the clay form and let dry. Then you can carefully pull the clay out of the papermache. You are left with a light but sturdy mask. and the clay can be reused over and over. The paper mache mask can be sanded, cut and painted.
