Started with this doodle- , decided to make it more dramatic!I'll be releasing a wallpaper set of these, with several sizes of just Discord, just Star Swirl, and both together like in this picture, once the comic starts
The comic will start next week, if all goes well with drawing the pages, so keep an eye out ^_^
This picture's taken four days, on and off, to finish, so a cumulative total of about 24 hours at most, in case you were wondering: I started it shortly after uploading the other one

I really like this pic, it's very awesome, and the theory of Star Swirl becoming Discord is interesting. One thing that bothers me (Though it's really not that important): With his color scheme, I don't understand how his parents would name him Star Swirl, and that would be before he got his cutie mark! And how can his horn be like that? It doesn't make any sense...

I reckon that names can be just names for ponies, they just happen to be coincidental *shrug* maybe the names were different back in his day, he lived a long time ago. And his horn is like that because 1: it's twisted and 2: it's bald. Basically. All his fur's on his chin.

Holy smokes, "dramatic" would be an understatement.
It's so cool-looking, not to mention very dynamic. The resemblance is also striking enough to show they're one and the same.

I'm sorry. On Adventure Time (That is if know the show), there was a half hour special episode called "Holly Jolly Secrets" where it introduced the origin of one it's characters "The Ice King" and who he use to be before he found the crown. His original name was Simon Petrikov

This makes me think of this great fanfic I read about Discord's first rise to power and how Starswirl battled him for the fate of Equestria. I do think a battle between these two would indeed be epic, and you depicted it quite nicely.
