Description

2nd Annex from Dragonkin, a book belonging to George R.R. Martin's saga 'A Song of Ice and Fire'.

Second page from my series about Westeros dragons. There have been some questions about the number of legs on the drawings. Is stealthy written even in the drawings (not so stealthy actually) that i was gonna treat this series as an allegory of House TargaryenΒ΄s decadence in Westeros. Embodied in the dragons. That includes going from 4 leg ones to even legless ones, being most of them the 2 leg creatures that so many people requires. Anyway, is just some piece of fan art!

I hope you like it.

2 Legged Dragons are Technically not dragons, but are Wyverns.

Nice work there. If I could draw like that them me treaties of Dragons would get finished alot quicker!

There are two legged dragons. A wyvern has a poisonous barb at the end of its tail, along with being bipedal.

No need to apologize! Β I was more correcting the person above who was going on about dragons needing four legs. Β Your work is wonderful. Β Don't let anyone tell you different!

Ahh.

I was reading through Darwins work and others and a 6 limb creature is possible (possible first mutation would have been over 200 million years ago)
Don't let naysayers dissuade you.

Thank you for your positive comment.

this artist could easily earn a place illustrating the forth-coming "Fire and Blood" if only the damn dragons had TWO LEGS. Also, I know we are discussing mythical creatures, but for any animal (mythical or not) to have four legs AND an independent pair of wings is biologically absurd (though one could easily argue that fire-breathing is as well!)Β  Whatever the case, PLEASE create 2-legged dragons.

Actually Fire breathing is not "Assured" and can actually be scientifically proven.

I love everything about your Dragonkin annexes: the scale reference with the humans, the notes and their font, the gorgeous celtic knot borders, and of course, the magnificent dragons themselves. Great work!

Love it.Β  Your drawing style is perfect for this kind of high-fantasy stories.Β  Do you sketch with a pencil or a pen directly?Β  And then do you do anything with the lineart on a computer to make is so smooth-looking?

This is really, really, really cool. Especially because I recently read The Blacks and the Greens, or, The Princess and the Queen. Very, very, very well done. I love it. ^^ Now that I've seen this, I really want to see a rendering ofΒ Moondancer when Baela Targaryen freed her from the dragon pit and rode her into battle against Aegon II over Dragonstone. That would be awesome! Food for thought. ^^ Keep up the good work.
