Effective contrasts with the white highlights. It's clear the emphasis is with the eyes and the rest is deliberately undefined but I find the mouth expression a bit of a snarl. Maybe if the teeth didn't take up all the mouth space? Also her right eye could use a little more detail.
Anyway, quite a striking image that I find instructive in its minimalism.
