Description Iarnac trees are extremely rare, a vestige of a much more ancient time, and it is because of this rarity that they are often revered....the title comes from an old poem....

The tree and its branches were modeled with Silo, while the flowers/leaves were made with xfrog 3.5.....

Very good catch. The nature makes her own art. It's awesome. The characteristic shape.

It's a 3d picture, actually....the model is a mythical tree I created.....wasn't sure, but I thought by your comment that you might have mistaken this for a photo, which is totally fine with me....hehe....

Hey, have you considered releasing an atmosphere pack for sale? Your atmospheres are particularly stunning. Completely understandable if you want to keep them for yourself!

FCLittle In reply to curious3d [2010-07-09 17:56:46 +0000 UTC]

The problem with a lot of my atmospheres is that they look good up close but not so good in the distance....I still have a lot to learn....

curious3d In reply to FCLittle [2010-07-11 14:23:46 +0000 UTC]

well I love how you use them in your own scenes. You manage to get a super bright scene without blowing out all the high notes.

Something tells me there's something important being stored in that knob on top very interesting tree design though, I guess the leaves and its rarity could make it this world's equivalent of the "Dragon Tree" on Earth

FCLittle In reply to Chromattix [2010-07-09 17:57:34 +0000 UTC]

You know, I never though about the knob being filled with anything, but now that you mention it....hehe....innuendo unnintended, but inevitable....

whalewithlegs In reply to FCLittle [2010-07-15 07:42:39 +0000 UTC]

the knob almost seems globe-like, in light of all the maps you've been uploading! My first thought was that it was a platform for other plants to grow in.

FCLittle In reply to whalewithlegs [2010-07-16 19:44:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'm trying to think of an interesting reason for it but so for I got nothing....

whalewithlegs In reply to FCLittle [2010-07-17 01:11:30 +0000 UTC]

haha, no worries. we don't have to know everything about our own creations .... to paraphrase Conan Doyle, "There is no [mystery] without imagination." Part of the best feature of a thing can be leaving something important unsaid, sometimes.

Chromattix In reply to FCLittle [2010-07-10 01:09:27 +0000 UTC]

Lol, I felt weird using the term "knob" too, but its really the best description I guess...and at the risk of mor eunintended innuendo's - I'd say it carries something like a nut, fruit or juicy substance like a huge seed grain or flower bud or something
