Yay, I actually uploaded something that's colored! And hopefully there'll be more soon, granted GED class stops melting my brain...Anyway, the blue blur himself would be interesting to see real... I for one would feel bad with taking too much away from his design when putting him into realism. :/ So I kinda had some help (with my own tweaking and studying, however) from Eddie Lebrons Sonic short film. I sorta liked where they were going with his design, but it still didn't seem real enough. So I tried my hand at doing my own real Sonic. I had to keep looking back at my hedgehog while drawing, until I came up with this. The drawing itself has taken me almost a month (I started working on it I believe around the middle of January) His back is completely covered in quills like a real hedgehog, and his front is covered in fur and bare skin (bare skin up near nose and in ears) I even drew his eyes how I'd truly like to see them. ^^ A hedgehog face is marked as if it's wearing a mask around it's eyes and muzzle.

Initially, Sonic had fur and "mini-needles". But my hardware it's not allowed to animate this(was many lags).

Listen. No offense to you, but I think the fan film is as far away from the normal design as I'm prepared to go. This design actually scared me a bit. It doesn't say "Sonic". Now, don't get me wrong. This is incredibly well made with clear skill and the intentions were well intended, but the final design just doesn't work for Sonic. Perhaps if you had an original character in this style....
