I downloaded it from Itunes and itβs seriously the best thing right now. Everything from the animation to character designs to backgrounds are all flawless and I have really high hopes for this series. Rebecca Sugar does not disappoint! I can only pray that I get to work on a cartoon of this caliber someday.Β

at first i didn't really think much of this show. as in i didn't really like it. but i decided to give it a chance and watch it and i like it. it's a cool series.

I have to say, the redesign she made for the characters sucks. The purple one looks more or less the same, but the orange one now looks like an adventure time character with a nose. And it doesnt even look like hair on the last one! Her old look was worlds better then it is now! What was wrong with how they looked in the pilot?Β

You know, I thought that at first too, but after watching the show and seeing how awesome the animation turned out I actually don't mind the redesigns at all. Pilots are pilots for a reason, they test the waters enough to gain interest and then are built upon. In Steven Universe's case, the changes and artistic direction were all part of Sugar's idea of where she wanted to take her show and after I've seen four or five episodes it's clear she made a well-judged call.
I'd love to see Sugar's style more in motion, but that's not what this show is for. It's not a chance for her to create a one-shot series, she's trying to make a cartoon with mass appeal to set a platform for more women in animation. It's understandable and expected that there were so many changes when taken to final production; and, in my opinion, all the changes made insofar have been totally on point.
I suggest giving the show a shot, Mate. The amount of effort and love she and her team have poured into it really give it the depth and character I don't think the pilot showed as well. The Pilot was amazing, but this show has the chance to be incredible.

so freaking excited for this show! Both of the Pilot episodes were amazing! I went to their panel at comic con and Rebecca Sugar is so sweet! (no pun intended) I can already tell that this is going to be my new favorite show! lol I'm getting over excited
