It does mess up a bit sometimes, but it's a simple matter of refreshing the page to make it work.

So your wings really are on your back? Mine are on the sides, between my arms and legs. The wings seem pretty small in proportion too. I'd say my torso's longer in proportion (to accommodate a longer membrane along the body) and my wingspan's quite a bit more than that.
Also, if I'm going to be standing on two legs that far forward, my tail's going to be stiff and in the air straight back. You look like you're about to fall on all fours from walking on two. The tail plays a big part in shifting between two and four legs normally, but it looks like you're using your wings as wind resistance to keep yourself on two with that posture. That's not a good thing for facultative biped dragons because you can actually run yourself onto your back if you keep letting your wings catch the wind like that.

That was just a color experiment, not a body one. My drawings have my body style, that was just a look at a few designs I went through for choice of colors when I was creating myself.

Ah. One of my dragon instincts kicked in and reminded me how to switch between two and four legs, so I felt like talking about it just in case.
Yay for instinctive knowledge.

I'm curious, would you think of a dragon mind to be exactly like a human mind, only with dragon instincts mixed in?

TatharNuar In reply to Farm-Fresh [2010-06-02 21:02:04 +0000 UTC]
Balance between human mind and dragon instinct or something more to it?

Farm-Fresh In reply to TatharNuar [2010-06-03 19:35:57 +0000 UTC]
Just if that person, and I do refer to dragons that can do it as people, can operate in their given situation with clarity and comfort. If a dragon is in balance with human society, that is a balance in mind. If a dragon is in balance with a dragon society, that is also a balance in mind. Itβs the opposite that causes an imbalance. A dragon that's not in balance with their surrounds is bound to cause friction and lead to problems and conflicts. Your mind must be in tune with your surroundings or you will cause yourself harm. There is no such thing as a βfor everyoneβ balance in mind. Itβs up to you to decide what is right for you, what is your inner balance. That's my opinion at least.

I see. I don't know how much I believe that though. The world doesn't run on instinct alone, no matter how much it may seem to at times. Nurture has a greater effect on the final balance than nature, but nature does dictate what nurture works from. For example, if I wasn't raised human, I probably would have chosen a different ideal for my environment as a dragon. I never would have known the benefits of not having to hunt for every meal if I wasn't raised that way.
I'd still try to push dragons into seeing the benefits of human society, whether they want to give it a chance or not. Then again, if a society has humans and dragons in it, is it still just a human society?

Farm-Fresh In reply to TatharNuar [2010-06-06 20:13:43 +0000 UTC]
Its just society really, a social network of beings in a group. And you are talking about a Nature vs Nurture things there and that's a deep debate in the realm of psychological thought on the development of the mind. I'm not sure which drives more, but I think its both in tandem. The are a balance with each other I think. But time will tell.

TatharNuar In reply to Farm-Fresh [2010-06-08 12:34:01 +0000 UTC]
It is indeed both, if my personal experiences amount to anything. A dragon nature and a human nurture produce effects that can't be explained by either one alone. Still, having a dragon nature without having dragons around you can really suck if you become aware of your nature. In some cases, human nurture can actually make things worse.

Not entirely, but for the most part the two can't be reconciled as is. Having dragons around changes things though, and if a flesh and blood dragon became a part of my life, I would have a much easier time dealing with it personally.

I wouldn't really say "neat" so much as it's like the feeling of having just seen someone where you can't remember the last time you've seen them and you've missed them ever since.

I know. Black dragons tend to have a different air about them, darker and people tend to see black dragons as evil. Red is a nice and peppy color, makes people feel better. While we red dragons do tend have the whole cave filled with gold idea stapled to us, I can tell you that I'm not very rich. I have enough to get by and that's it. Still, if I was a black dragon, it might be harder to get by in a social environment. Not impossible, but harder.

Maybe, but a dark creature in a dark room might make for a foreboding scene. A black dragon in a club might be fine because of the atmosphere, itβs livelier. But a black dragon in a bar might make him/her look that much more intimidating. It depends on the context I guess.

Very funny Obi. At the time I was basically going through every option that was available. I wanted a perfect fit for me and the only way to do that was a shop around. Eventually after all that, I settled on the red and yellow, country dragon you now know. It fits me pretty well I think. ^.=.^
