Description This picture of my guinea-pig was painted in a program called Artweaver. My bachelor thesis topic is digital painting so I have been trying several types of painting software. I never know what to paint so this time I decided to paint my two guinea-pigs in some very funny and flashy manner I had some serious fun painting something not worrying what people would think about it That's how Thunderbolt MuliΕ‘a (read mulisha) and Cloud Kuku (read kuh-kuh or short coocoo, not kaka) came to be!

MuliΕ‘a is fluffy and energetic and always kicking around, that's why I used lightning as her theme. Kuku is fat and lazy and always smiling like a buddha statue, that's why I made him riding a cloud

Painting with Artweaver was hard at first, mostly because I'm too used to keyboard shortcuts which usually don't work with "not heavy commercial software". But it turned out to be an interesting software with several features I would like to see in Photoshop.

This is amazing! I simpily don't understand how people can get that effect, and that makes me jealous to a certain degree but there's no point in holding a grudge - it's a waste of my and other people's time plus it makes me depressed, and besides, these kinds of pictures deserve PRAISE!

I first painted some lights with blue soft brush with low opacity and then added in the middle of the trace hard 100% opacity strokes of very light blue and white. This does the effect

With this picture it was my first time trying a program called Artweaver, but I don't know anyone who knows it - I only found it because of my research for my bachelor thesis. It comes in a bundle with Total Commander Ultima Prime. Personally, in some aspects I liked painting in it more than in Corel Painter or Open Canvas. But you can do this lightning effect pretty much in every software that supports pen pressure
