Takes place at the time of nightmare night where every is at they're best attempt at trying to scare one another. The main character enjoys the season until, rumors of scary stories have been spread out

"A man sneaks into people's houses at night, A tall man with no face stalks the youth, A dog who's grin let's anyone here it's howl despite being indoors."

These are likely to be false stories told by our girls, as they think someone is just messing around by telling kids about creepy stories happen but truly didn't.

As they celebrate the holiday, strange figures randomly attack ponyville, but the figures disappeared quickly after they attack, leaving a series of book behind, the main character, each with their own book of scary stories, learn that the books were from the Mansion on top of the Eastern Hills, whom belong to an unnamed author that mysteriously disappears.

Believing the rumors of collecting all books will grant her the speed of light, Rainbow obtains the watch she calls "the fastest creepy story ever", can her claim be true?

Starting of a fight with Fluttershy, Rainbow encourages her into joining the others into investigate this one night incident. After Fluttershy fails, Rainbow has to obtain her book, and goes into the search for the others.

At the skies, Rainbow encounters Sunny who was looking for some unneeded tools for her personalized gadgets. Knowing that Sunny has the one the popular creepy stories, Rainbow fights Sunny to obtain it.

At Crystal Prep, Rainbow has an eye out to it's students. after being Ambushed by Indigo, she reveals she is also gathering the books, and that she believed the rumor was real, though she mentions it's not the same rumor Rainbow believed in.

After having most of the Books, Rainbow, outside of the mansion, tries to activate them but no avail. Until Sunset appears. Sunset, surprised that Rainbow has gathered the right amount of books has no other option but to begin the ritual, much to Rainbow's confusion. Sunset opens the gateway towards the mansion, revealing to Rainbow she has a few hours to spend in the mansion, to her confusion, Rainbow attacks Sunset for Answers. After their dual, Sunset now knows Rainbow to strong enough to fend of the real enemy, Sunset reveals to Rainbow about the nature of the books, and that if the reader believes the story was real, they are victims of the embodiment of the unknown being that is featured in the story, and in the mansion is where the culprit "sealed" him/herself away to prevent anyone from crossing the ritual grounds.

In the Mansion, Rainbow feels a heavy atmosphere, as if she was being controlled. She encounters ???, she does not reveal any answers, but she does mentioned about being faraway from Equestria and mentions about the stories were from people who experienced them. Rainbow proclaims she came to obtain the speed she was looking for, only to have ??? revealed that the rumor was a lie from Rainbow's book, claiming that she spread the rumors for the others to believed in them, only for them to get caught in a trap, the same way how Rainbow ended up. Wanting to prove ??? wrong, Rainbow challenges ??? to prove how fast can she get, with ??? replying to Rainbow she'll be too fast to reach a good ending.

Rainbow returns outside of the mansion after fighting ???, feeling almost as if the whole experience was just a dream. She excitedly tells Twilight and Sunset about her experience in the mansion, mentioning how fast she was that the whole world became slow. Twilight brushes it off as Rainbow had to much cider from AJ, though Sunset tells Rainbow that her story is not just about speed, and that the others have to read more than once. Reading her book once more, Rainbow remembers that she has forgotten about the fact that the fastest thing in her story was not something human, but rather something evil.
