I spent my whole day developing this species (and chatting with !PaperOwls).

Name: Gyesh Dog (Mix between Yeth hound and gytrash, pronounced 'guy-yesh'//yesh rhymes with mesh)

Description

Basically dogs with a skull mask and tail bones for a tail.

Masks Their masks do not come off; if you try to pull them off, they will become offended. They hate being petting near the mask-fur zone, preferring the middle of the mask or their backs. Masks are smooth but not slick.

Eyes Eyes are in an eye socket hole. The hole can move around like eyelids to express their feelings. The eyes can glow.

Neck wear and charms All usually have a neckwear of some form, either string, scarf, tie, ect.. They all have a charm on their neckwear and they are super protective of the charm. They panic if someone, even a loved one, tries to touch it.

Tail Tails are only tail bone jointed together. They grow out from butt fluff. The end is usually a pointed, but not necessarily sharp, tip. They can have as little as 2 (bone and tip) or as many as 15 (14 bones and the tip). They are connected to each other with balled joints. The tail can break apart and some Gyresh amuse themselves by playing with the scattered parts. They are not afraid of losing a bone or joint because they have a small connection to each part and are attracted by it. Gyesh are normally protective of their tails too (not as protective as the charm since they may let loved ones play with their tails too) but some have been known to GIVE a bone or joint away to a very loved one so they can locate/know where their loved ones are. Some Gyesh give their gyesh mates a tail and joint part which their partner would connect in its own tail, which is why some Gyesh have multi-colored tails.

JOINTS ARE THE SAME COLOR AS THEIR CHARMS. Made out of the same, pearl-like, smooth material.

Fur They normally have short, thick fur but some living in colder regions grow longer fur. Their fur are usually dark colors/grey-ish shades of colorful colors.

Sizes Their standard size is around 18 inches tall. They can grow/shrink from being 6 feet tall to being 6 inches tall, no bigger, no smaller. Not all can reach the biggest/smallest size though! Most only range from 5 feet to 9 inches. They like to stay their normal 18 inches tall size though.

Personality

They will form close bonds with friendly owners but they dislike meeting new strangers at first and only a few will let a stranger touch them if their owners introduces them properly. They are quite shy and drawn back. They will follow their owner around closely, protectively even, but won't be attached to the ankle or constantly attracting attention. They like scary things and are attracted to death. They are normally not evil but some mean ones like to pull pranks (that aren't even funny) on people. They are not really goofy or derpy but can be playful. Some silly ones will sneak around and pull funny pranks but in general, Gyesh dogs are not pranksters by nature. Most hate being smushed and only a few loves hugs.

VocalsThey aren't very noisy but have a wide range of noises, mostly terrifying. They can mimic many animal screams, often human noises of pain. They make a little cooing noise when happy.

Diet They can eat almost anything, normally preferring meat or garbage/decaying matter. Some love eating trash and are bred and raised then released into the city for that reason. They will 'eat' souls too. They are one of the bearers of the dead; some are trained to take souls down to hell; they have to carry it in their mouths for the whole journey.

Gender Difference Females have two 'fangs' on their masks while males have four, two on each side. The fangs can be broken off in a tussle though and will regrow. Females also have a slight indention above their eye sockets and are smaller than males. Males are usually the friendlier, more loyal ones. Females tend to be moody and growl-y.

They ARE an open species (no use being greedy) BUT there are some rules.

All Gyesh must be approved by me first. Upload a pic of their design (with color, full body!) into your stash and show me so I can approve it first before it officially becomes an OC. You can make some to sell but I have to approve those too.

Gyesh come in dark/grey-tinted colors. They have simple markings. Tail joints and charm must be present and in the same color.

ALWAYS credit me for the species. I may remind you to do so but if you do not comply, I will report it.
