I did this picture, inspired by a dream i had that i couldnt really make sense of. But i had this dream almost every night for a week, and that is what i kept seeing.
Well, a few days after i finished the painting, it sat on my easel drying and i brought my little sister into the room to see it.
When she stepped into the room and saw the painting she suddenly got pale and just paused. I watched her for a moment then said "what's wrong?" Without looking away from the painting she said "that's me." I wasnt expecting her to say that, and asked "is it?" She said "When i was a kid i used to have this dream that i was wandering through a forest, i would have it at least once a week, and i was searching for something or someone, i was waiting. How did you know to paint that?"
Thats when i told her i had been having the same dream.
I titled the painting 'Awaiting' before my little sister told me any of that.

very ethereal and dark... did you dry brush the whole thing? looks like it or was it the scanning? b/c if its oil paint it lacks it usual luster but its a good thing b/c this effect gives this picture more ghost like appearance^^ looooove it! hehehe

i used a lot of thick paint, wet on wet.
The painting isnt mega huge, but it's bigger than my scanner (all my canvases are 
I wish i had a scanner that i could fit my canvases on, cause i would love for the canvas texture to be able to show up and more of the tones ect.. i could add texture digitally but that defeats the purpose of posting a traditional painting
