That's horribly sad.. why do people lay down bear traps at all?

Yeah, I dunno =/ Was watching a program on bears and up in err, Canada (?) they have a specific bear-hunt season. Some think bear meat is tasty, but generally I think it's just the trophy factor, because the hunters they interviewed all assumed bears were, well, grizzly and vicious *shrugs*

And some are.. but this is beyond the pale

I was thinking, is there anything the traps could actually be used for which is in fact a necessity? Or are they just cruel and deadly sporting tools?

I'm sure there's some great hunting websites out there that would try justify it all, but as far as I know the traps are mostly for property/livestock protection. We have fox raiders, Canada has bears. lol But yeah, obvs causes undue suffering when saaaay, bait and sedation/drugs could work equally well. Shift them somewhere else after capture! *shrugs*

Seems more reasonable.

I'm sorry - but thank you for speaking out against it all..

Glad you agree! Hehe. I wanna do some similar ones and send them to publishers of WWF and such wildlifey magazines. That'd be the best thing ever! Animals AND doodles! :3

trapping should be illegal because of it's inaccuracy and cowardice! if your gonna hunt be a hunter! track down your prey with bow and spear and know that even those may not protect you from your own prey!

Yeah, no wonder humans are ceasing to evolve, we're just too lazy now! I agree, if we have to hunt, we should do it with a sense of skill and tradition And a big thank you for adding this to your faves, much appreciated! :3
