Description OPEN SPECIES, YES YOU CAN MAKE ONE

They’re a fantasy centaur/deer/feline/human thing with a smattering of magic. Farool magic subtly promotes growth wherever they reside, be it natural (plants) or mental (education). Very few exist in cities as cities are scarce in trees and running or still water (their favored habitat), and the promotion of industrial growth tends to get rid of the habitat they enjoy anyway, naturally driving them out.

Young start out with chubby necks and no torso or extra arms. The torso continues to slowly grow (adding vertebrae) as the creature gets older until it can support extra arms, a sign of sexual maturity (aka, teen years). Much like humans, they may be sexually mature before reaching true adulthood.

Elders have very long backs and so they tower and curl over the more youthful of their species. But you have to be pretty damn old to get that way.

Androgynous. They do not have breasts on their upper half as the young suckle from the lower half. So always flat chested, though a hefty amount of fat or fur may give the appearance of a bust. Males and females look fairly similar with build speaking more about personality than sex. Males might be more gaudy though to appeal to females, but it’s a rough cultural idea rather than an instinctual rule. What constitutes “pretty” depends on where they live and what resources they have.

While some Farool have features reminiscent of extant species, such as a specific cat or ungulate, there’s no rule for how broad their appearance can be. A creature with leonine features might also have rabbit ears or a llama-like body could sport cheetah spots or random swirls. The lower half is usually more ungulate in appearance (with cervine features being most common) while the upper half is a varying blend of human and feline features. No matter how human the upper half appears, it will always sport animal ears and a feline muzzle. The creature might also incorporate the features of lapines or canines, but the joint structure of the lower half is predominantly ungulate.

Short, fluffy tails are most common, though not a rule. Toe number in the lower half varies between one and five and is almost always hooved (rarely, they might sport feline/canine paws). The upper half’s hands are usually human in appearance though might be tipped with hooves or claws. This allows for dexterity and they take advantage of this ability to perform music and make delicate crafts.

Colors are typically earth tones with markings ranging from the mundane to the fantastic. Crazier colors are usually a result of dying their fur.

And all love baked goods.

This is pretty darn neat-o. I like the concept of them growing into their final forms instead of being born with a torso and arms. If I didn't have so many bloody characters already, I'd be really tempted to make one of my own. I also like that they don't sport humanoid breasts; very practical as opposed to most "taurs." Looks pretty brilliant, I'm definitely interested to see more of 'em.
